First paint job! What do you think??

Wow... that looks pretty good! Im kinda digging the paint scheme. So...what process did you use for paint? Professional booth? In the garage??

How about some pics of the before. I know myself and others will be curious to see that! Good work man!

Tell me you didn't finish this paint job on Sept. 11. That would be just TOO ironic (but very cool at the same time!)

I am impressed with the paint job esp. if it is your first time painting.

I'm not wild about the busy-ness of it, but that is just my opinion. I'm more into plain-jane stock color combos. But if that's your thing, then you definitely rocked it out!

Good call. I'll be sure to round up some before pics for everyone. This was not done in a pro booth. It was done in a garage lol. You'll be able to see the trash up close, but I'll get around to buffing it out. I had to get most of it down to bare metal due to how f'd up the previous paint was. Lots of dents I had to fix and I had to replace the front bumper cover. Keystone is crap btw. It fit poorly. So was the harwood hood which was worse than keystone. I also shaved the door handles and used a peice of mitsubishi fender to weld over the handle slot. The wheels are stock, I just sanded and painted them. They'll do for now. I was going to keep the 3 piece spoiler, but opted for the high rise spoiler as it really complemented the hood IMO. I used the 91-92 style gfx for the sides and Im still searching for the front aero spoiler. Thats about it for the body. Oh and everything leaks.

Nah, but I had it done just before the 4th of july! And yeah some a**hole cop ticketed me that day. 58 in a 35. 35 on a 2 lane divided highway. Didnt know it was 35.....prolly should have paid more attention esp after they said on the news that police would be out in force looking for speeders/drunks. I'll quote myself, "Hah! They'll never catch me!"

Are your wheels just amazingly clean or did you paint those too?

Heck of a nice job for a first paint, especially in the garage! Well done.

Yeah, I agree. I was thinking more stars. By the time I had realized this, I had already cleared it. That was when I decided to paint the wheels white. It helped a lot, but still needs more white. Im planning on repainting it, this time with tribal flames, more stars and better patterns for the stars. Thanks to everyone else who commented and I appreciate the opinions. Thats how we make good, better!

That is awesome! That's really good for your first time & in a garage at that. I wonder if yours looked as bad as mine does now? This gives me a little hope that it can look good with the work.

A set of black rims and some lowering springs would really set it off. And nice paint job! good work!

Haha thanks. Im not ready to paint other peoples cars, and I did have help with the clear. So, yes, it was a base/clear job using PPG. Youre looking at $800 worth of paint there. Base was fairly easy to to spray and is very forgiving and easy to fix, but I didnt trust myself completely with the clear so I only did some of it. Again, everyone who commented had positive things to say, so thanks to all!
Now, its time to give this thing a backbone! 400 sbc is currently being readied for install along with a st-10/ muncie 4spd swap ( I havent found myself a 4spd yet.) Im new to this site and ive spent hours reading throught all the tech articles and I see maxed out credit cards in my future..........TGO rocks!!

The car looks good!
You said the wheels are painted white?, I would try a very bright white on those, they look grey to me.
Good job

Yeah Im sure that was me. I think it was the time that cop got after me for burning out at the show lol. I stopped going until I finish my engine/tranny swap. Its been taking a lot longer to fix since I have to use it for my daily driver after a damn neon got in my way when I was in my truck. My plan was to not even get the camaro out on the road till it was 100% done. Well, shat. Where do you plan on getting yours sprayed at? I have a couple people I could recommend.

Im on Mcdonough road past the dmv and the last house before the baptist church. You'll probably see it parked there as its not running so good and I just got set back $600 bucks from a laying drags ticket that I wasnt even responsible for. Warning to all visiting summit racing: If a car leaves in front of you and peels out like hell, make sure the smoke clears before you proceed or he'll have the fun and you'll ge the ticket. So there went my tranny swap fund. 3rd ticket in this car in the 4 months Ive driven it. Im really thinking of selling it. Whos interested??
