yeah Jza,

I think you can find em at www.ricewannabe.com

consider this to be your initiation Junior member. We all got the treatment. well some of us did anyway.

What he means by the fire retardant suit is, you will most likely be flamed if people see this post.
The reason why is, the ricers out there which are those hondas and acuras, whatever, put the big 3 stage spoilers and stickers and clear taillights on thier rides, and dont forget the coffee can exhaust.
Your 3rdgen, fortunatly, rolled right off the line looking bad@ss! we here at the board believe in TASTEFULLY modding, and doing exterior things to our rides, but dont try to pursue the looks of those overseas vehicles that look bad from the beginning, and look worse after the stickers and such are applied!
do not get me wrong, I have seen a couple of tastefully done ricers, but that is only a couple.
If you want to do something with your tailights, my suggestion would be to swap them with a differnet style, or black them out. when they are done correct, they will look very good.
I hope this helps...and thanks for posting here. do a lot of reading, and before you post, use the search engine on this board to look into a question you are thinking of posting.

But remember, our opinions are just, our opinions. Its your car, do what you want to with it, but be prepared to get a whole lotta feedback if you post here, that is what this is all about. welcome aboard!!

ya, what they said. when u post a question here about something, you always get a lot of different views, some the way you see it, some not...so just doo what u want, use the board as a guide if u want but be prepared to get different results then uve expected

personally, i dont think clear lights go with camaros, ive seen em in pics and in person in Ocean City, and i dont realy care for them. Like they said before, different style camaro lights, or blackouts usually looks AMAZING

pe@ce bro, and welcome

one of my reasons for asking was that i think the rear end needs something, i had blackouts, but where i live you can't keep them for long without having them stolen, i like the blackout look but i don't feel like spending like 40 dollars a month just to keep them on the car

Does that black out spray really work? I think that he should do what he wants with his car. I see some things that people do with thier cars that I personally dont like, but that is thier car. As long as Im not driving it, what should it matter to me? I think the white lights might look good, I cant knock it until I actually see it. Well good luck with your decision, and please post pics when you get them on your car. Do what you like, dont worry about what everyone else thinks. I am curious as to how they would look, even though I would never even think about puttin them on my TA.

VHT Nightshades Spray, and yes, the stuff is awesome!!! Works great, blacks nicely, but shines through perfect with the lights on.

I'd like to get Clear breaklights on my firebird but not the clear type...I'd want the Euro style lights..those are tight as heck...3 red circles for the brakelight and turn signal with chrome surounding.

Most clear tail lights look crappy because it's only the lens that's clear and the internals of the light are the same. IMHO, clear tail lights look good only when then have a crystalline appearance to them. Like where you can see the shiny chrome reflector through the clear lens. The lens shouldn't look too cluttered either and the reflection of the red and amber bulbs should be visible from outside. Well thats just my .02, but really I think tastefully done clear tail lights would look very nice on a Camaro. Just because ricers took to it before anybody else doesn't mean it makes every car look *****. Somethings go well with some cars and somethings don't. Personally, I wouldn't mind swapping out my current tail light for a nice pair of tastefully done clear ones. they wouldn't look bad at all. in fact, they would give that rear end a much needed face lift. But then again, this is my opinion, and everybody has their own.

Go ahead man, do what you want. Don't take crap from anybody - it's your car after all.

What are we talking about here..?
there are the clear "white" lamps,
the clear "altezza" lamps,
and the clear w/carbon fiber back lamps.

the altezza's and carbon fiber MIGHT have a chance of looking good but I need to see it.

the clear "white" lamps in my opiion would be fugly on third gen's.

the clear side markers i think look good an almost every car.

as far as i remember, the clears were first on the minitrucks, the the ricers came and played em out...
same with the euros the first "altezzas" were for theS10
now there even on rustangs
i think the only euros that could go on a 3rd gen Camaro would be square lenses behind the clear outer lense on a camaro...
round doesnt go very well with 3rd gen camaros, hell not much newer crap does either

I have clear corners on my 90 Iroc . I think it's very tasteful and my car doesnt even come close to qualifying as RICE .

You want something to refresh the look of the rear ? Take the clear reflectors out of the inside of the light in the corners and use a high intensity 194 . The effect is somewhat similar to an Alero tail light . Subtle but noticeable , I get alot of compliments

Well I am by no means a bussiness but I am in the process of making a set of clears for my 92 white RS...I was asked by other guys..mainly Grand prixers' after they saw some of my other work locally to make a few select parts...
I am also hoping to get a vacuum forming machine really soon so I can replace all the grey plastic in the white RS in Carbon Fiber... I am also getting ready to make a one off hood for my 92 RS kinda like the ram air for the new TA's with funtanal ram air and it will have hood vents to allow hot air to get out as well...I will post pics after it is done...I am hoping this will be done in the next 6 weeks...

I do . Nobody makes them so I made them myself . Took a 85-92 Z front parking light I got at a junkyard , cut it open and used the reflector inside for the textured clear plastic . It worked out good cuz the texture exactly matches the texture of the front lights . Anyways , shave the amber lens off the stock housing . Then I used chrome tape to apply to inside of the housing so its super reflective . Carefully cut out new clear lenses , I used the amber lens I shaved off as a template . Then apply new lens with clear silicone....whala , clear corners . I spent less than $20 and that includes the cost of the junkyard parking lamp

Hey 90 Z28SS,
I like the looks of those corner tail lights. Do you know if you can do that to any other part of the taillight assy. or just the corners? Thanks.

Clear tail lights have to be the worst invention on this earth. If you want euro tail lights, you should buy a euro car. But please do not disgrace our thirdgens with those POS clear lights.

Thanxs ....the corners of the tails are the only part thats smooth like that . The rest of the light is textured on the underside . I polished the inside of the lens while I had it off . You would be amazed at how much that in itself brightened up the lens .

So does anybody have any pictures of the clears? Does anybody know where to get them? For all of you that think it looks bad I probably agree BUT dish out the info if you know where.
I'm going to get them if they have some quality to them. Then I'm painting them candy red.

The Riceroc!!!

I'd love to take credit for this doctored pic, but I didn't make it. Someone else on thirdgen made it a long time ago and I downloaded it because I thought it was so funny. But I can't remember his username so until someone claims this masterpiece, we'll just have to say artist unknown.

This isn't intended as a flame, I just thought some of you might want a visual aid.

Pull the outer lens off the housing ~carefully or it will crack~ , pull out the reflector in the corner , its held in by nothing . Put lens back on housing . I used black silicone to seal it back up . I also used a high intensity xenon 194 bulb .

i have a neutral opinion on clear taillights until i see them on a car. i think they will look different in a good way on a 3rd gen, but it all depends.

So I guess I'm the only one that wants the clears?!!? First thing I'd do before putting them onto the car is to paint them candy red. I don't like the tri color stock. So does anybody have the link or know where to get them or what?

Maybe you could make your own. If you're gonna paint them red then you could just leave the red part red. Then get an extra set and swap the orange part for the clear part. Then you'd have a red section and two clear sections. I suppose if your red paint matched the original red color then it would look OK.

Oh yeah, ir I remember correctly, GMI FAST has clear taillights. It said in his signature that they were custom. Maybe you should ask him where/how he got them. And maybe you could get a pic from him too.
