I don't know if this is the appropriate section but whatever.I was just wondering how often do you all have random people approach you and ask you to sell your car and offer to buy it. It seems like this happens to me atleast once a week if not more. I have had a guy that worked at taco bell in the drive-thru want to buy my car. Not to mention tons of older guys asking me what i would sell it for. Im not wanting to toot my own horn but i was j/w if this happened to you guys??

 

LMFAO its just the opposite for me I keep asking ppl if they want to buy my car, what a POS cant even give my car away.

 

You get lots of big talkers ... But getting 99% of them to part with any cash is the challenge. Just name a price about 25% higher than market, and don't hold your breath waiting on the phone to ring. If ever a real serious buyer wants it, you'll know ... He'll be the one handing you the cash. All the others are just making conversation.

My car doesn't get out much lately (no plans to ever sell it). But when I do, I often get those who are curious if I'd be willing to part with it. I also have a small collection of business cards from people waiting for a call they'll never get.

Iv'e had a few people asking me how much I would sell it for,but most of them thought my car was an IROC-Z. This is my first real car, one that is actually registered to me! Even though sometimes I want to get rid of her, I won't!!!

 

In the last 5 years the offers seem to be more frequent, but I'm keeping it unless that new camaro projected for 08
is such a cool ride that I won't want to drive the IROC anymore, then I'll probably give it to my nephew, who is 3.

 

my iroc is my first car i always said that i would never sell my first car i mean its been trying at times but its still here.

 

All cars have a price, unless it's something sentimental like your mother's car that she owned when she passed away, or the car you bought your son when he came home from a war, etc. Otherwise, you pay what I consider to be a good profit, and it's yours!

 

ive had more than a few people ask me if my car is for sale, but now ive realized with the high price of first gen camaros and the rising price of early second gens, the rare model thirdgens will be worth alot of money someday. I bet that the iroc, z28, and GTA's will be collectors items and youll see them on barret jackson goin for over 100g's in less than 20 years. i plan on keepin mine until im completely done modding it, and that wont be for a long time. and i hope by then ill be able to sell it for more than ive put into it.

If I sold my car I would never forgive myself. But there are times......oh there are times.

 

It'll be with me for a while, no plans in selling it. Last month while I was at the drag strip a guy wanted to buy it lol he had an 82 as well.

 

I purchased my car for 500 and did not take off the for sale in the window....someone came up to me with 1000...I said no. lol I want to keep this one.

 

i have had quite a few people ask me if my car is for sale. mostly while i am at a stop light. some times there are people who try to buy parts off my car. like my hood, rear spoiler, etc. i guess that's what the volume *** is for on the stereo. works for me i did however have a serious buyer that was obsessed with my car come to my front door and kept stopping by every week and trying to haggle me down. then he brought $600 cash and told me that it was a down payment. and he would be back with another thousand. i told him that i wanted $2000 for the car and he just kept telling me about blue book this and that. $1600 is all it's worth. he kept telling me. i just rolled my eyes and replied you cant make me sell my car for that much. i want $2300 for it. he got pissed when i started raising the price i wanted for the car. i told him that if he could haggle me down i could haggle him up. i havet seen him since. thank god.

 

ive been offered $2000 for my brothers iroc clone by some one who didnt know thirdgens. i just laffed, i personally have performed well over 3000 worth of the work on that car. its got sentimental value to both of us.then there is my firebird, ive never been offered anything for that car, but i wouldnt sell it for the world, that car and i have a real close bond, to many hours have gone by under the hood of that car. i wouldnt get rid of either of them for the world.

now watch now there both going to act up since i was talking about selling them.

 

I can think of only one instance where someone wanted to buy my car. I've heard of a lot of people saying it would be interesting to have a car like mine, but I can only remember one time where someone straight up asked me if I'd sell it.
