Greased Lightning

Ok, I was thinking about using greased lighting to clean my stock wheels really good, Ive searched it on these forums and most say it works pretty well, however on the bottle it says not to use on aluminum or clear coated surfaces has anyone ever had any problems with it taking the clear off their wheels?

Thanks,

It won't strip the clear, just cause it to fog over if the wheel is hot. Or so has happend to me in the past.
Any of those type cleaners are the exact same product with a different labe basically.
The main ingredient is usually sodium hydroxide (lye, caustic soda) which is what makes it the nasty crap it is.

JMO though..

I've tried wheel cleaner before. All it did was burn my eyes...

Yes agreed with deadbird. If you use is on bare aluminum....it will fog up. I went to clean my motor, I have a polished Plenum, and dist. cover. I paid hell to get it to shine again. I had to get my buffer out and use some bullit aluminum polish.
I also have used the mothers power ball and the polish that comes with it. Even though I had the clear coat on my stock rims.....THEY CLEANED UP REALLY WELL!!
