Vavle cover question

Why can't I find any valve covers to fit my 1991 305 TPI on Summit? I do know they are 4 bolt centres, but that's all I know

Would these fit it? http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...115+4294840138

It was a search of summit of 4 bolt centres, leaving out 1991 camaro data. just 1991 5.0/305.

yks troy

Look for Centerbolt design valve covers.

you can find a pair of chrome valver cover covers. They simply go over your factory covers. No need to mess with the gaskets. its a real pain getting the valver covers on and off your car if all the factory stuff is still attached on the engine. You can also look on ebay for actual valve covers. I bought a pair of tall polished aluminum ones for mine for $100 on ebay and they fit nice and dont leak. I will be tossing them though so I can get a set of some GMPP covers. Ill just need to run my adapters.

I am changing the valve stem seals, so I figured I would change the valve covers too.
So any of these covers on summit http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...115+4294840138
will fit a 305 TPI with centerbolt? Just wanted to make sure before ordering, because when you add in Camaro to the valve cover search, I only end up with gaskets.

Tks Troy

yes 90% of those covers will fit your engine. As long as it has the holes in the center of the cover and it says SBC, they should fit. The only issue you run into is when you run roller rockers. Some rockers are bigger then stck and then some valve covers dont fit without modifying the covers.

nice choice on covers. as for your spelling issue, you can correct it by editing your post then go to advanced and fix it in there. Then save your work. Oh and if you decide to go withthe rubber felpro gaskets, be prepared to cut them in half for them to fit. it says on the box that they are made undersized on purpose. They will NOT fit inside the groove of the cover and stay there while you try to fit the cover in place. I always cut the gasket in half and then glue it to the cover with gasket maker and let it sit overnight. I have never had an issue with them leaking.

right on man! im hoping the camaro is gonna go in that new garage.

do the valve covers at the same time as the headers, i remeber i had to take off one of my valve covers to get the headers to slide in there. plus you will be removing all that coolant crap on the passenger side of the engine next to the intake manifold.
