which of these 2 wheels should I go with now

Which of these two wheels should I go with. The Centerline dagger wheel or the Boyd Coddington Junkyard dog wheel? If I go with the daggers, then I will get a 17x8 and 17x9.5. If I get the JYD wheel then I will go most likely go 18x8 and 18x9 depending on the price of new tires. Id like 18s but Im not sure how much harder my car will ride with them. Ive got Eibachs in there now and the roads are not the greatest here. the 18" daggers are a LOT of money, so what do you guys think. Oh and my car will be sporting an SS hood with the scoop painted black and the headlight buckets painted black as well along with dark tinted windows. I may either paint the dagger black in the center or just leave them be until I paint my car another color within the next year. here are my choices:

JUNKYARD DOG

DAGGER

They are both nice, I like the daggers though. Too many people have the junkyard dogs or similar wheels. I say go with the Daggers and be different.

Yeah I think the Daggers would set your car off nice. The gta's you have on now look good but those new wheels would be sick.

EDIT: The Daggers look good as a rim but I have to see them on the car. To bad they dont have a car/wheel generator. Thats just me though. Im into FAT 5 bars....something with a beefyness to them.

Here is a picture of the Centerlines I AM buying.

17x9.5 in the rear and 17x8 in the front. I enjoy 5 bars of any FAT style.

Just need to find tires I like and want....WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK ABOUT NITTO 555's OR 555R's? If not those I want some DOT radials....MAYBE THOUGH as this car will be driven as a daily (summer season) driver.

Can you get the daggers with the "soft lip" rim? If you can do those cause they will look really deep!

P275/40ZR17-----MSRP*-----$250.95 Dunlop SP Sport 5000's

There they are for $250 a piece. Ah well thats fine by me. Comes to 1g for tires and around 1500 for rims (I guess, dont know actual price of rims selected).....SOB thats alot. Lol. I'll put up with it. Maybe I can find some that "fell off the truck" and get them cheaper.

Thanks alot.

Any other recommendations

I have to say of the 3 rims I like those the best. It's probably just me but the others looked too much like chrome-plated doilies.

The "soft lip" is where the out portion of the rims is flat all the way to face "center" of the wheel. This gives the wheel a really deep looking lips cause it is all one height instead of stepping up like most wheels do. This will also allow the face of the wheel to be a little bigger to compensate for NO step in the rim. Look at the rim on the JYD how it goes back to face of the wheel at one level across, and the DAGGER steps up about 1" from the outer edge.

Hope my explanation makes sense!

I cannot get them in the soft lip version. I just asked centerline that same question this morning and they said that both sides of their barrels are the same.

That sucks! I thought that there is a guy with a black TA and 18" centerline Lasers that have a soft lip on here? I think that Billet Accessories Direct (BAD) has a wheel that looks similar, and I know they offer soft lip. Might look at there site!

well I dont really mind the stepped lip. I would like to see what that wheel would look like though with a soft lip but they told me no go. I MAY either paint or put a vinyl overlay over the center part of the wheels and see what it looks like on my car. if it dont work then I will just remove the vinyl sticker. I just have to find a vinyl shop that will make me a 5 star decal that will go on the center part of the wheel and then fold over the sides.

I have the t/a with the 18" centerlines with a soft lip. It's too bad you can't get them with it.

87TPI - i knew I wasn't crazy, that they offered soft lips for there wheels at one time. I wanted soft lip Sundance wheels for my mini truck about 4 years ago, and they had them.

BOTTLED - The overlay idea is really good idea, and you should take some pics of how easy it will be to give other peoples cars a new look.

Those are the wheels I AM buying. Just e-mailed nicole at Centerline and asked about ALL rims they still offer in soft lip versions. Also quoted my rims

Sundance- Matrix's- 17x8 fronts with 4.5" backspace and 17x9.5 rears with 5.5" backspace.

Can someone correct me on 15" IROC wheels and their backspacing. I was told to use 4.5 in front and 5.5 in rear. I just want to verify.

HOW DO YOU GUYS FEEL ABOUT ANODIZED RIMS. I WANT MINE ANODIZED BLACK.

The Sundance - it is a swept 5 spoke wheel with what looks like drilled holes is some areas behind the spokes. Very unique looking wheel, but for me there is too much going on (my tastes have matured... a little)!

Matrix's are same pricing....dont know 18's either.

Comes to $1440 for ALL 4 MATRIX/DAGGER WHEELS

I am getting Dunlop SP 5000's....at $1000 for all 4 tires.

Thats $2500 for my rims and tires. Not to mention I am getting all new lug nuts and inner fenders (sheet metal for clean look. stainless too so no rust, then painted black).

This wont be until next winter though...I have $2500 for something else this winter.

ya Im going to go with 17s on the next set of wheels. I was thinking 18s but like you said, the car rides a little bit harder and the northeast roads are real crappy. I think I am stuck with an 8" wheel in the front though. the 9.5 and the C5 rotor is pushing it too much

Although 18's are lovely....for some reason I dont think big rims go good on these cars.....at least anything over 18....unless you have BBS 20" rims on your Twin Turbo Trans Am (Carbed).....the only guy I know that can rock twankers....and it be okay. Lol. I forogt his name but yes......he has 20's and races with them too....

Subject: Sundance Wheels

I would like to order your Sundance wheels (MATRIX) in 17x9.5 and 17x8 with bolt pattern 5-475 and backspace 4.5" in front and 5.5" in rear. How much am I looking at for these wheels. 17x8 in fronts and 17x9.5 in the rear. ALSO DO YOU OFFER THESE IN THE SOFT LIP VERSION. I have seen these in the soft lip but heard you dont soft lip rims anymore? I hope its not true the soft lip is AWESOME especially if you want a new look to your rims. Please get back to me, and maybe with a list of rims you still offer in soft lip. Thanks for all help. Oh can you quote me on these? 17x8 fronts with 4.5" backspace and 17x9.5 rears with 5.5" backspace in bolt pattern 5-475. This is for an 89 Camaro IROC (with 15" wheels)

-Chris
