i had your vid in my favorites...i love the last part with the straight away and then the turn skid http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...71967&q=iroc-z Raiderfan- so your telling us you have never done a burnout in your car to show of to some kids or something
No I didnt watch the video but I've also done burnouts until my POS 91 overheated, then did it again. Hahahah!! And this is with a 100+k mile L03/700R4 combo and OEM cooling system. I'm not saying its good for the car, but the car did not end up in the scrap yard from a few wild burnout sessions. Now maybe if I did that every day of the week then yeah something will break. I've been abusive, I've tested the limits. I would put my money on the 700R4 going first. But its not gonna happen from one or two or even three. Its when you're doing it all the time that you become an abusive owner.

pretty much everything i do is video taped so thats about it, and also i let the car cool off before i did anymore...and i stopped the burnouts because the car started to heat up i could have kept going.

ok well today we took the tires back out and did a burnout till they blew....so here is that vid. its a short one.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7OGv7Usd-w
You’re so lost on the concepts of burnouts that it’s amazing. You’ve never bolted slicks onto your ride and ran it down the strip? How do you warm them up?

Because I drive a truck (that's faster then most of their rides
) I guess they assume it's my first time around the block, or to do a burnout, or go to the strip, or whatever...The tranny was going to be replaced for a better one anyways. The motor is being replaced with a 350. And as for the rear end well that would just give me a reason to put a 9 inch in. I wouldnt do those burnouts if i knew that if something were to happen that i wouldnt be able to fix it.
I agree burnouts create unwanted heat that can prematurely wear many parts of the car, but I think alot of you are over-reacting. Maybe if you did a long burnout every day of the week for weeks/months straight then yeah you can expect things to break. But just doing the random burnout every once in a while isn't going to land your car in the scrap yard.

Online170 seems to disagree with us though. A random sub 3000 RPM burnout will surely toast the engine first.

Sounds like you have a healthy cash flow. If that's the case then why is your "muscle car" struggling to do a burnout? Stock Dodge truck doing better donuts?

My parents dont give me money, I work my *** off for it if thats what you ment by that comment, and also yeah a stock dodge truck puts out more hp than my car thats why i dont really care in putting any money into a 305 or even keeping it. So why cant i go beat the **** out of my 305 motor that is being replaced...and my 700r4 transmission is being replaced and my rear end that leaks which i could care less about having anyways?
My comment wasn't directed at the whole "beating" up on your car thing. I'm not as rowdy as I used to be but I can assure you I still put everything I own through its paces - you should see me ride my Banshee
It was more directed at this whole, "I'm going to swap engines, transmissions, and drop coin on a 9" setup so I don't care about this." If you got the coin to drop on all of that stuff then why does a pickup make more power? That's all I'm pointing out....

Engine: Someday again I will have another!!
Been to the track a couple of times and never did enough burnouts to add up to that. I also do not recall OVERHEATING my engine.
