Just bought another 3rd gen

Its a 85 Z28 with a brand new crate 350 and a rebuilt 700r4 trans. It has headers, edelbrock carb and intake, flowmaster catback, and a billet distributor. The car is a little ruff but i think i got a good deal at 1,100 bucks.

Here are some pics of the outside. It was faded real bad from sitting in the sun for 4 years. But i buffed it and waxed it.

Here is where it needs some work on the inside.

Someone caught the carpet on fire and it burned up the door panel as u can see. Also there were burn marks all over the center console

Then under the hood there was a small fire so the reminence from a fire extinguiser is all over the place.

Not bad. I don't like the painted grill and hood louvres, but other then that the outside looks pretty sharp. A little love to the interior with some detailing under the hood, and you'll be set.

first thing i would do would be to have matching door handles. the car looks in pretty good shape on the outside. the interior will definately need work. good luck

Definite potential there! The body looks to be very straight!

What a steal man, the exterior looks great for the price. The interior and under the hood should be an easy fix. I wish I could find a deal like that.

As we speak i have already got most of interior and im working on putting it all in. As for louvers i am definately going to paint them black and probably the grille too. As for the body it is very straight only couple of tiny dings one on the fender and one on the door. No hail damage anywhere. The GFX's are perfect except for one spot i have to fix about 6 inches or so. The plans i have for it iis to finish fixing it up and drive it for awile. Then in the future i might repaint black with gunmetal racing stripes and put some 18' coys C5 wheels that are gunmetal with a polished lip. Im planning on putting the eibach sportline kit on it. Swapping from a auto to a 6speed. Thinking about doing a 4th gen dash, door panels, and a pillar trim. Then putting some corbeau's in and do a custom black and grey 2 tone through the interior with leather. Later convert to a aftermarket fuel injection and throw some heads and cam it and have a fin little car.
----------
Oh and the suspension was rebuilt on it not to long ago everything looks in good shape just dirty. Its all stock.

if it was me I'd paint the door handles black, too. I know some ppl like the body-color look but to me it just looks like someone was too lazy to remove them/tape them off when they painted the car. Anyway, definitely a good deal, tho. Nice find.

I'd definitely check out the wiring thoroughly before driving it, considering it's already had 2 fires.

...and carry an extinguisher.

Good find. It is hard to start with the body having straight panels. Paint the door handels. Louvers back to black. Pull the engine and rewire it. Don't even play around with wires that have been in a fire. They have been compromised and it will show up miles down the road. Gut the interior and replace the rims and wheels. that should keep you busy for the next year. LOL Have fun and enjoy.

BTW; Please don't put a red interior back in.

The fire under the hood was one wire that went to the electric choke. It shorted and caught the fuel line on fire. No biggie thats fixed. The fire on the inside was because someone droped a ciggerette on the carpet and it burned up the door panel. All the wiring is solid and nice. And i will definately have a fire extinguisher in the car i have had bad luck with fires. None were my fault but they seem to happen to me.

ya it'll be a fun little project and you've definatly got some big plans for it. I've gotta say though, I don't think I've ever seen a dash pad that cracked up before!

I was thinking the same thing i mean damn that thing has like 8 different cracks! lol. The majority of the pads i see at the yard look better then that one, its had a ruff life for sure.

Sounds like you got some good plans for this one. It was a sad sight when you sold your bird for the s10 you had a lot of work into it and it was definently one of the cleanest looking ones on the board.
