post pics of birds without wing
well as some of you know Im building a project car and am trying to decide weather or not to put the wing back on the car. Because of the fact that im doing everything to the car to make it look cleaner. So my question is should I put the wing back on? So do any of you have any pic's of firebirds or trans ams without a wing???

I think that the rear end would look just fine with no wing, but it would look even better if the cars had the newer style taillights 91-92 (I think - Camaro guy
).

It looks cleaner to me. I don't like most hatches because they have the brake light in the window, or under the spoiler.
I agree with BADNBLK too about the newer tail lights.

Have you tried a search? I'm sure this has come up before... not sure if it had a dedicated thread like everything else though.

Sorry venom, unfortunately thats not my car. Someone around here must know who's car that is, maybe someone who knows will fill ya in with that info. I saved the pics a while ago from an old post about bird without spoilers.

thats ok. I personaly like the wing over no wing but it ain't bad without it, it almost makes it look like a different car (from the back) without the wing. I also have to say side on it dose look sick.

there's a reason some things come from the factory the way they do... lol. I think firebirds look retarded without a wing/spoiler. They weren't designed to look good without one ( assuming since they weren't produced that way ). JMHO.

I beg to differ. Firebirds DID come factory without a spoiler. So you're sayin that they made the spoiler-less birds thinking "some dumb bastard is SURE to buy this ugly thing."? I surely don't think so.

The only spoilerless ones where 82-84 Base Models (and SEs maybe). By 85 every single Bird had a spoiler for a good reason.
But this post isn't about if they look good or no, keep it to pics, or it'll get locked.

thanks for the complement Poject '86.. this is with sportline springs.. i no longer have the drop due to the car now becoming a strip car.. sad but i have no use for the drop and it was inconvenient.. i live in a hilly area and there is no road track to take advantage of the handling..
the big and shiny wheels are Boyd Coddington Magneato's 17x8 with 4.5" BS wrapped with 245/45-17 kuhmo's(THE shitiest tires ever made)..
the other ones are stock s-10 xtreme wheels 16x8 with 4" BS without the hubcaps wrapped with factory 235/55-16 goodyears..

These cars look like *** without wings...
BUT that red bird looked REALLY good.
If you've got the right tires/wheels on it that make it look really aggressive, and you dont have ground effects, ro at least late camaro/ 85-90 GTA style ground effects, having no spoiler can look pretty good.
I only say that because I saw that car a few posts up.
It almost looks like a Ferrari or something.

It's needs to have the right stance to pull it off, though. The way these cars taper off in the back is just weak without a spoiler to muscle the lines up, but if you have a car where the angle is a little raked, you can make it look realy nice.

I thi nk 'Birds need a wing...
The Camaros can get away with the RS spoiler or nothing, because of the wrap around tail lights. Since the 'Bird lights don't wrap, the quarter just looks too blank, to me, without a wing to brake it up, and profile some shape to thhe side profile.
