My recent purchase...
Hello all,
I'm new to this forum, looking for some good feed back and helpful hints. I just brought home my 1989 IROC. It's been 15 years since I've owned a Camaro, I'm a 'Vette' guy, but I came across a deal I couldn't refuse.
It has: A new crate motor, rebuilt 5 speed and new interior. Plus lots of mods. I haven't gone all through the service history yet. Owners were a father and son that had all the work done at the local Chevrolet dealer. Previous owner from me, bought it 6 months ago to finish paint and then sell.
He wanted my near new '04 Yamaha YFZ450 with accessories (worth about $7K). So... we traded straight up. Here's a few pics of my new F-Body and a pic of what's already in my garage.

Yes, both vettes are mine... well one of them the bank owns more than I do at this time.
My black vette has a custom paint job and today, I took the IROC to see what it would take to paint it black or silver. This thing is about 2 grand more to paint than my vette. I have to pull the engine to get to the wheel wells and firewall. So for it looks like about 6 to 7 grand for paint.
I'm going to replace the front and rear facsia, side, front and rear light lenses. Having all new weather stripping done while in for paint. Gonna find some billet wheels and lower the car about 2".
I've shown both my vettes at various car shows in the last couple of years. Took home lots of 1st place trophies and 2- 'Best in Show' I also track my Z06 from time to time.
When done, this IROC will be a class winner!
Congrats on the awesome Iroc trade. An even bigger congrats on your awesome Vettes. I hope you have room in that garage for the Iroc. I am a Third gen Camaro guy myself, with the Vette coming in at a close second. But I try to mix up my style from taking cues from the Vette and mash it into my Camaro. Eventually I hope to have such a powerful garage lineup such as yours.
