Search for posts by Mr. IROCZ. He painted his taillights with some smoke/tint paint, looks real nice.

to make them red like that he just used the candy red coat over them, the same color he used for the rest of the car.

Free mod I took the lenses off and removed the reflector in the corner of the lens , it just pulls right out . Also used a high intensity 194 bulb . Not a dramatic change but I get compliments on it all the time .

hey anyone out there know how to make the signal lens red also. ive seen it on one camaro here in Hawaii but i never saw it again. then i saw it on the flamered camaro link that metalli posted. i know there is a red spray but it makes the orange a little off red so it doesnt match the brake lights. if anyone knows, thanks.

I think he removed the inner clear plastic piece that scatters the light. This makes the lens transparent so you can actually see the bulb when the lights come on. More like a new Olds Intrigue or Alero.

you didn't have to break anything right?? if you wanted to put the plastic piece back in you could just slide it back in correct?

.....nothing broke . The lens is snapped in and can be re-installed . To get the outer lens off the housing easier use a heat gun to soften the adhesive that holds them together . To brighten up the corner of the housing since that portion of the lens is transparent now , I used chrome tape . If you get the cuts dead on you wont see any seems . To RE-seal the outer lens to the housing use black silicone . Thats what appears to have been used by GM .

You can do the same thing to the front turn-signals. The diffusers are simply snapped in between the housing and the outer lens.

Heres mine. The previous owner spray tinted the tail lights. I'm gonna give 'em a second coat as they aren't dark enough for me.

Hey HYBRIDZ! Was it me that you saw with the custom taillights? Cause I drive around Kapolei every now and then. My car has the turn signals red and it matches the brake lamps to! I drive a white 91 RS w/IROC rims. Oh yea and a Import style muffler. I haven't seen any other 3rd gen with the turn signals red. Except for one guy who made the whole taillamps red. Soon I'm going to change the tails though. TO make them all clear. Except maybe for the brake lamp.

heh heh...yea I know. I always get people saying **** about that muffler of mine. But the thing is. (some people are going to get mad at this) It gave me more hp than the Flowmaster. And it sounds better than it! My track time improved by .1/1mph which means it gave me around 10hp over the flowmaster. And I just like the look to.

I can see how you can say it sounds better than a Flowmaster... if you like your car sounding like a dying moose..
Sorry, but I just can't stand the sound and look of those big ugly things, but thats why its not on my car.
