Hello All,

Just wanted to share with you all my HSR intake that I painted with the new Metalcast. Must say that stuff works great!

I used some grease and wax remover and some 70/30 mix of alcohol to prep the surface. Then taped off what I wanted to keep natural looking.

Then I put down a ground coat of Metalcast. It is just a silver paint with lots of metallic in it. So much that it was floating in the air around me...lol I put on 4 coats of this.....

interesting color choice. Looks pretty good though.

All you did to prep was grease and wax remover and some 70/30 mix of alcohol, you didn't scuff it like with scothbrite or anything. I hope your paint bonds and doesn't start chipping off.

It was a rough casting so Scuffing it would not have helped much. Rough enough that it was shredding my towel I was using to wipe it down.

There was a Red, Blue, Smoke, Purple, Yellow, Green, Orange, And base coat and that is sliver but not transparent.
