8000k HIDs Installed (video)

I just bought a pair of H4 8000k HID's from www.ledgauges.com. I found some H4 conversion housing that look pretty close to stock. Sorry I don't have any pics, I'll get some up soon. I wanted to keep the stock looking headlights cause I think they look better on black thirdgens. If I had any other color car I would have bought diamond cut H4 conversion housings. It didn't take me too long to install them. I have to say they are like 5 times brighter that halogen headlights.

Tell me what ya'll think.

HIDs are awesome! I bought my kit from them too. I think black cars look great with the diamond cut headlights.

The HID's were $250 and the housings were $50. So about $300 total.

Look pretty good, im more a fan of the white-purpleish HIDS. Leaning towards the 4300-6000k range. Hopefully in the next month or so ill have something.

Man those look great. After driving my Saab around a bit, it annoys me to drive the Camaro at night now. It makes my Silverstars seems so "blah" in comparison.

Was there any serious cutting or splicing that needed to be done or was it straight forward?

Yea the Silverstars and the HID's are like night and day. I love the HID's compared to the Silverstars.

Actually I didn't have to splice at all. I changed the arrangement of the prongs in the plug but that is it.

One question, how is the light control? There is no doubt they are bright as heck but the beam pattern seems awfully wide. Does oncoming traffic get blinded?

My beam pattern is about perfect for not having projectors and I don't blind people. If you take the time to adjust the lights unlike those stupid ricers then you don't blind people. Ledgauges.com has good kits.

Well after I put them in I adjusted them down quite a bit. I haven't had any people flash me yet, so I guess that is a good sign. But I knew the design of our car would help some. I figured our headlights sit back so far you have the bumper cover that blocks to the outsides of the car and the hood blocks the majority of the higher scattered light, it works pretty well.

they dont look aimed right. If they were shining into the camera that much, from so far away and across the street, I'd hate to be driving in the oncoming traffic...

Man i was blinded just watching that second video. I think i would personally go for a 4300K kit if i ever wanted to upgrade.

4300k doesn't really reduce how much light comes out, it just changes the color.

Just so everyone knows the higher the temperature rating DOES NOT mean the brighter the HID, In fact it is just the opposite. The lower the temperature the brighter the light is 4300k is great cause they are very white and very bright.
