Headliner falling down, has any one over changed it

I have t-tops and some ppl told me that you can rip out the headliner and put in fiberglass but i dont know what to think of that. i mean it would probaly be easy and look realy good. if i was to keep the "headliner"(get a new one) how easy or hard are they to install correctaly

thanks

The headliners just click in after you take off the trim pieces by the A-pillar, B-pillar, and the plastic piece running across the back. You have to be careful if you are planning on reusing the same board because the area by the seat belts are really flimsy and they break easily. If you are getting a new headliner board then you should have someone professionally reapohlster it before you put it in. It is a hassle to reapolster these things. I just bought one from thirdgenresources and it should be here any day now. Their's came totally covered and the shipping was a lot less than buying the headliner from anyone else...

good luck,
Mike

Check your yellow pages, and go to auto upholstery specialists. It cost me $160.00
and took them about 2 hrs. The fabric match
was perfect, just like the factory job.

I'm in the process of doing mine. Taking it down is easy but time consuming. You just take off all the screws holding the trim pieces and carefully pull off the headliner and board. My headliner didn't tear but was sagging, if it's in good condition I'm going to peel it off and reapply it with 3M adhesive. If not JoAnn Fabric has the exact same headliner material. I found a whole roll of it for my friend one time. Total cost was like ten bucks, material and adhesive. I haven't put mine back on because the weather has been crappy. It just takes some patience.
