custom taillights are on. pictures! (added new pics)
well here they are. i made them out of blackouts. nothing fancy with wiring though. insides are still turn signals as out side is break and tail light. no reverse lights atm.

----EDIT-----
ok here are some outside pics. its raining/snowing so couldnt wash it. couple better angles and one side view to show the direction (or lack there of lol) in which this project is headed. i think the part i dont like is where the covers wrap around. gotta figure out what to do about that. maybe ill paint just that side body color and leave the back black?

Sorry man, I don't like it.
The car looks like it has good potential, but you need to lose those covers fast.

Agreed with everyone above. Looks like you want the corvette tail lights but don't want to buy em.

It's your car, if you like it, then that's all that matters.

Having said that, I give you credit for trying something new and different. As others have already said, it's your car after all, so as long as you like it, that's all that matters..

I tip my hat at anyone who mods and fabs their own parts, I may not exactly like the look you chose... But I still say props to you for completing it

Re: custom taillights are on. pictures!
I think what is bothering most people is the harsh contrast...If the car was all black with red accents, I'd think more people would be impressed. As for me, oh wait, I just noticed the notch back hatch...hhmm, Now that I know that the car definitely is not going for a stock look, it seems more fitting....

What would make the tails look better is if you can get some red lenses and make the holes flush.

Re: custom taillights are on. pictures!
I don't personally like the way it comes across, but I think the thing that's killing it the most for me is that there is the space between the covers and the lenses. I think if that issue gets cleared up, it would give it a cleaner appearance. Props for being creative, though. Last edited by 87IROCZ350TPI; Apr 11, 2007 at 04:09 PM.

I don't really like it either, but its your car so if you like it thats really all that counts. Do not take them off because people here don't like them, take them off if YOU don't like them.
And I agree with ^^^^ it may look better in a better scene.

Re: custom taillights are on. pictures!
I think it looks terrible, for a few reasons. First is that, like the C4 Corvette conversion, it completely ruins the lines at the back of the car and in no way fits in with the car's overall shape. Square peg in a round hole if you will. Secondly, I feel that it looks like you took a saws-all to a set of tail light covers and slapped a flat lense under the hole. In other words, extremely amaturish. It's something I'd expect to see on a teenager's beater car.
I'm not trying to insult you, though I'm sure my comment comes off a bit harsh, but in order to provide constructive feedback, I want to point out why I don't like it, which means no sugar coating.

i see where your comming from. because its true. i am 19 and this is my hobbie car. and in NO WAY do i claim these things are of professional quality. its more of a sloppy mock up of the image i had in my head. which i wasnt exactly sure how it would look when done i just had an idea i felt like trying out. and its really hard to see the 'setback' of the lenses in the pictures but its not just a gap. they set in about half an inch and the lenses curve. and i did base these off the c4 lights.
thanks for the comments though
Re: custom taillights are on. pictures!
I agree with whoever else mentioned it would look a lot better with the tail light flush against the black out. The spoiler has to go as well.
Do you still have reverse lights? Hope you have lenient police where you live.
