front bumper mod : opinions

its justa photoshop for now,

ive already come up with aluminum brackets to reinforce the lower gfx/bumper if i do go ahead and cut out the center of the opening
the reason for doing this is well theres 2 reasons

#1 i have a large front mount intercooler and doing this would get me alot more air to pass over it.
#2 as above this will also allow more air to get to my radiator as well

i like it thgough once its done u will see my intercooler mounted up behind it so it wont be all black.

the onyl other problem i can thing of would be i need to find another place to mount my front liscence plate

Looks great. I want an intercooler someday because they look sexy in the thirdgens grill like that. I wanted to remove that anyway and put some black mesh behind there to 'mask' things.

with the bowtie in the middle is really cool, the intercooler serves as a "billet grille" kindof

Re: front bumper mod : opinions

If you are really worried about the GFX vibrating at higher speeds you might need to make some sort of reinforcements. But when I hacked up one of my front bumpers from a parts car for Intercooler Fitment it seemed OK to me. It only got unstable after the crash beam was removed, then it was a little wobbly. But its not a bad idea to cut out that center for a front mount. Thats what I'm doing for one of my projects, except going a little more extreme than those pictures. I wanted my intercooler to be flush and its sized to take up the entire area with the center section cut out. Because I wanted my setup flush I had to cut more than most people would, maybe even a little too much. Its pretty extreme looking, I like it. I ended up deciding to use the Intercooler Pipes themselves for bumper support (since they will be welded piping).

Nice to see my car gets some rep. I'll post pics of it with the SS hood and the black Z06s.
