Will This be a nice looking car

Ok peeps, I'm about 75% sure this is what I want to do to my car, can I get your opinions? keep in mind, my car hardly has anything original now, so I'm not building to look stock, but to look nice and different.

Paint it such as this with same cragar rims (the first pick of the chevy orange/black camaro):
https://www.thirdgen.org/pictures-1988-chevy-camaro

Get a similar custom Grill which i found last night:
http://www.chevyworld.net/thirdgen/c...ges/C2027F.jpg

I have the 90's "whale tail" spoiler ready to be added once paint job is done, Have brand new stainless side exhausts, and Will be adding a Ram air II hood.

Sound good or what? Any opinions on what else I could add or another change?

dont add the 91-92 Z28 wing unless you go with the 91-92 gfx. otherwise it looks really awkward

Right, my bad about the rims, i should of known considering American Racing torque thrusts were what i used in Need for speed Carbon. I've been mixing them up with the new cragars : http://cragar.com/ClientImages/driversside.jpg

You don't think the Ram Air 2 would look good on a similar car huh? hmm, maybe you're right. It doesn't fit the paint job.

I'm a pc wiz, I'll try some photoshop and see how things look.

+1 The RA IIs just doesn't look good on Camaros, imo.

Re: Will This be a nice looking car

Heres what I would do.

I would add 92 ground effects, and spoiler. Get TT 2's. and get a jongblooed hood, The company that makes them was a sponsor here I don't think they still are though. Paint Is totally different, and I would do some thing unique.

Re: Will This be a nice looking car

tt 2's seems like a good choice, so do the 1992 ground effects... BUT... the 1992 ground effects are difficult to find here and are very pricey when available.

Re: Will This be a nice looking car

i'd have to disagree. go with the whole kit or drop the aero spoiler.

as for the orange. chevy orange is more red then that in the pic. huggar orange is closer and a better choice but still more red then what you picked.

lamborghini orange... a ppg color which is basically orange with gold pearl. easy to paint, relatively cheap is a gorgeous color that isn't too loud but will give you a real custom look and turn heads everywhere if you paint it right.

that's the only orange i'd put on a thirdgen.... well that or candy orange.

as for rims, cragars are not quality... they are quantity. unless you get a deal i'd go with something different. too each their own. it's your car but so far from a show stand point i'd say you will blend with 90% of the thirdgen crowd.

leave the billet grille out too... not nice looking at all.

Re: Will This be a nice looking car

Keep the whale tail and ram hood off the car. As for gfx, either go with all 91/92 including spoiler or just don't bother. Not sure what that 3rd gens look like in the maritimes. The TT II's are nice but fairly common. 18" IROC chrome rims would stand out. IMO

Re: Will This be a nice looking car

Why would the wing look bad on a non 91/92 GFX car? I bought my 86 Iroc from a member on here with the spoiler still in primer and I didn't like it at first but I thought it was better than the stock one. I was going to just try it out and see if the paint makes it look good but now I think I will have to sit and look at it from different angles for awhile and re-evaluate.

Re: Will This be a nice looking car

I know theres been nothing on this thread for a while but i just came across it and i say the notchback is always a nice touch because its not seen often and add the ram air 2 hood with TT 2's and 91-92 gfx with the z28 spoiler with out the middle bars and add on the zr1 aftermarket taillights, they are styled after the 4 round vette lights.

its not the cheapest set up but will look amazing. i dont know the price on TT's off hand and i dont know what you can get used gfx for but heres some approximate prices

ram air hood with ram air box - $700
ZR1 taillights - $500
Notchback - $600
Spoiler - $300

Re: Will This be a nice looking car

Not the RA I or RA II...If anything, the 4th gen SS hood. Firebird RA hoods belong on 'birds (RA I on 89 & earlier RA II on 91/92) and Camaro hoods belong on Camaros.

I love the Jongbloed, but can't stand G&T, the only maker of the Jongbloed. For that reason alone, don't don't go with the Jongbloed.

As always, all the above....IMHO!

Re: Will This be a nice looking car

I think a Camaro would look cool as hell with 91-92 graffics, 97 Camaro SS style hood scoop, 85-89 GTA whale tail spoiler. Then paint the car that IROC-Z metallic blue, chrome ZR-1 style wheels, chrome 93-97 LT-1 tail-pipe tips. Real dark tinted windows with silver "camaro lettering" in the back window and front window like the 82 pace car had. Then a graphite leather interior and toss so C-4 vette seats in it.

Re: Will This be a nice looking car

I think your ideas sound pretty good. I would go 91-92 ground effects all around, 91-92 spoiler like you want, TTII wheels, but then do a paintjob that YOU like, preferably without copying someone elses. But, if you like it that much then go for it no one can stop you from making your car look how you want it to look. Sounds like your on the right path though.

I guess that means....every car since...1969 or so, with rally stripes, are lame, since they are just copying.
