Heritage stripe installation Q
I ordered a set of heritage stripes for my Z. I got it today in the mail.
there where four pieces in there: the two for the hood, one for the deck lid and one for the spoiler. What about the hood blisters? are the stickers for the hood supposed to run over the blisters too or where these stickers missing?
And any installation hints?
Thanks alot!

I'm not positive, but I think the stock heritage blisters are painted, while the rest of the stripe is vinyl. The stripes you have will NOT conform over the blisters. You'd need a special "air egress" vinyl like the vinyl used you for car wraps and such.
...what color did you get? You could rattle can black pretty easily. I'd probably go with a semigloss. Red would be tough to match with spraypaint, but should be fairly cheap at a bodyshop.

As for installation hints, are there any markings on the back of the decals? Like brand name or vinyl type? If you see 3M Control Tac or Bubble Free, then you'll want to do it dry. Otherwise, go to a sign shop and see if they'll letcha have a small bottle of application fluid. If not, you can use a bottle of water with only a drop or two of liquid hand soap. Shake it up pretty good. Too much soap will cause the vinyl to not stick as well. As long as your water to soap solution is good, you can use as MUCH as you want, so feel free to over do it. Once the placement is good, then squeegee the stripe down, starting from the middle and working out.

Personally I would let a shop paint the blisters instead of Rattle Can (even black) because I would want some good clear coat on them. Then I can wax them and they will not fade from the sun. But I am a perfectionist so don't mind me. lol

Now, I can't be 100% sure as the the contours of the blisters, but with a little heat, like a heat gun, you'd be surprised at how much you can get Oracal/Avery to conform.
Yes, it has its limits, but some conforming can be done.
I would try the vinyl first, before dismissing the idea of using it completely.

Thanks for the replies!
If I have to paint my blisters, I'll have it done profesionaly for sure.
I'm wondering what it will look like when its done.

Well, I'm gonna have to kinda disagree there. Having been doing vinyl installs (I wasn't a simple salesman, I was the Head Installer) for a living, for the last 9 years, I know a little about vinyl.
As for rattle can painting, I wasn't necessarily suggesting it, just putting it out there as an option. I'd have 'em done professionally done too!
