Hey guys didnt know where to post this but this guy had a kitt front end that looks like a regular trans am front. Is this custom or did he buy it somewhere if anyone knows because i really like it!

I'm pretty sure it's custom. If you have see the show ( Knight Rider) they made that bumper custom and even exteneded the hood to cover it. Of course, somebody might sell them too.

 

I am pretty sure it is custom, but it isn't the first one I'd seen. Awhile ago there was a Trans Am that had a Ram Air I hood on it, with the KR scanner in the stock front bumper, then he molded over the turn signals to give it a little more "meat" in that area. It was one of my favorite Thirdgens.

I am not sure where you got the idea they modified the hood, but I am pretty sure they didn't. You can buy KR Replica bumpers from several places, but the one I know best is Marks Customer Kits (http://www.markscustomkits.com/)

 

Ya i like the kitt bumper but its not for me but the stock trans am one like this one has is hot. Do you have any pics of the other one you where talking about?

 

I have profe tht they exteneded the hood. It was extended to reach out over the whole bumper on the top.

There were several different versions of the car, so its very possible on one of them they needed to for one reason or another. The normal one did not have an extended hood, there were some (like in the pic above) that didn't have turn signals, etc. That one might have been a quick fix for the show, maybe they totalled the one they had and did have another ready to go?

I know that's what Kitt looks like. But, an the first part of the pilot, they used that custom nose, then later on in the episaode, they replaced it with the one we all know.

On that car, all he did was cut the hole for the Scanner on the stock T/A bumper.

They used so any different cars for that show, it wasn't funny. And the front varied slightly in appearance. You could actually see in many episodes they used cheap black tape to fill in the area along side the headlights because in wasn't even FLAT.

And the show wouldn't have even been possible if a rail car loaded with new TA's didn't derail.

 

its odd but I like it. if I wanted to do some kitt look but keep it almost looking stock.. lol. I wont but nice to have that option since I like how GTAs look but people always say wow that looks like kitt.. sigh.. and the rims look nice as well just sayin
