That car in the movie "THE WRAITH" ITs body kit is one sick MOTHERFUGER

Ever since i saw that movie in the early 90's i always wanted that car, i know it was produced by chysler and was called the TURBO INTECEPTOR, but why didnt chysler build it. Does anyone know what type of motor, drivetrain it had, LOoks as if, it were using GTA black rims, not for nothing has anyone seem the puny exhaust pipe on the back of the left tire. GOtta admit it sounded nice. Funny how that guys yellow transams' supercharger wasnt functional. Those were the movies, not these stupid crap they air today, so to keep up with this board what body style does the INTERCEPTor have on, is there a conversion for camaros, i dont care what anyone else thinks that car is one bad a$$ car. OH yeah what HP and quarter mile times was the INterceptor

Man i saw that movie last week, that car sounded funky, wasn't the real exhaust tone. That trans am would have smoked everything if the blower was real.Funny how the 2.2 turbo was keeping up with the interceptor hahahahaha.Love those GTA rims, they looked a hell of a lot beefier though.
Sorry but don't know anything on the car, except that it was a dodge

This moive was aired once on UPN 9, back in NJ....the "Movie Trailer" as they called it. The host said that during filming, they used the real car(the actual Dodge Interceptor) and like 12 copies. He also mentioned that the car exists, there is ONLY ONE, and during filiming, there was extra security and guards for the real Dodge vehicle. I have since done internet searches for it, and come up with nothing...i dont know what has happend, but as far as i know, the car does exist, and is most likely tucked away in Dodges'prototype collection somewhere...anyone with more info about this, please post....it would be much appreicaited, as i was actually wondering about that car for years...and yes, the first time i saw those rims on it, i thought they built that car around an F-Body platform.

I agree sweet car,but i wonder how fast that car actually would go,it still seems ahead of its time after all these years,i agree that the movie was lame, but the cars scenes were cool,Gone in 60 Seconds was the same way,it was the cars that made the movie.

OF course it was lame it was an 80's movie, what 80's movie is out there that isnt lame. I thought i was a good movie, Never understood what the metal thing that was on the floor and shined and disappeared every time a car crashed. What was that metal thing. That was one sick motor that guy in the silver corvette was gonna put in. Look like a big block with oval port heads and a roots supercharger, damn the movie was nice.

There were some good movies in the 80s,just cant think of any off the top of my head, lol, ,but Scarface was good,a classic. The thing that would lay on the ground all the time was that arm band he would have on his suit.I agree that i would have been truly pissed if someone took a 10 guage and shot up my sweet motor.

Found out a little more about it,,

"There was a Dodge Turbo Interceptor pace car built by Chrysler and PPG Industries for $1.5 million. It was used in a movie called "The Wraith." Filmed in outside of Tuscon, Arizona, in 1986, stared Charlie Sheen and Nick Cassavettes. There were six copies of the car that were built for the movie. The car was rear-wheel-drive, power by a 2.2L Cosworth twin-turbo in-line four. That is the extent of my knowledge on this car. (Greg Landon added: this car was written about in a book called "dream cars" several years back. These cars were powered by a 2.2 liter, twin intercooled turbo, dohc, pumping out a supposed 440 horsepower."

WOW 3hp per cubic inch. THats impressive. IF that shiny thing is his arm band why do they show it disappearing. Whats the point of showing it if its just his arm band.

I actually got to see this car! The movie was filmed in the area I used to live. I saw the real one and the fake ones. The funny part was that the fake ones were just a body with a pos VW engine to push it. The car is really sweet though. I even got to see them destroy one of them. It was awsome!

I dont know why they had that armband thing, but if you remember when he raced one of the cars,i believe the daytona and he smashed the car,the piece was on the ground and lit up and then he was standing on top of a mountain a few seconds later and the same piece lit up on his arm,i dont know the point of it,but hey its an 80s movie.

Exactly, i guess it just bothered me, to understand what the Arm band had to do with the movie. I've noticed when the Interceptor was running away from the cops after the Firebird smashed into the car, if u look at the front spoiler u can see, how hollow it is. That car is one sick motherfuger, too bad chrysler put it on hold and gave us neons, stratus, and VIPERS

What about the charger in Dukes of Hazard, Or the GOrgeous High flying pontiac firbird in "KNight rider". Im tired of these sissy movies there making today, Need more movies that involve road racing and some muscle cars back in the 60's, 70's, and possibly 80's.

What about the movie Gumball Rally? The second generation camaro that Gary Busey drove was cool. Y'all got me thinking now. The futuristic car from the wraith reminded me of a show on tv, where this guy would fight crime. A little blue ball would follow him around and turn into a car or motorcycle. Does anyone remember this show from the '80's. Besides knight rider, the fall guy was a pretty cool show.

Thats MY favorite part of the movie too...when the Wraith just f**ks with the guy next to him, and floors it, and anihilates him by taking off like its nothing...the guy driving the other car cant believe it, and has this confused look on his face....its awesome

Was there ever a KnightRider MOVIE? I hope so cause if ther was I'm going to go find it ASAP. That was my favorite show until they stopped running it on the WB a couple months ago. Does anybody else out there still get it? I miss that show

The only movie I remember about knight rider was years ago,, was called knight rider 2000 or something like that,, the made for tv movie using a "firebird prototype/concept" car as KITT (I think,,, I've slept since then ).

(I use prototype & concept loosely because I can't remember if it was based off the original GM model or not,,, I've been wrong b 4 )

You're right, deadbird. That's the only knightrider movie that I remember. They filmed some of the scenes here in Corpus Christi and in San Antonio. My favorite episodes of Knight Rider had to be the ones where KITT faced off against the other firebird. I believe it's name was CAR, if I'm not mistaken.

Yes coach, KARR was KITTs 'evil twin'

Upon a very small amout of research into the knight 2000 movie, the car turned out to be a copy of GM's concept car the Banshee, (which is now a wooden roller coaster at Holiday World in Indiana lol), which (I could be wrong again) was the concept car that inspired the 4th gen birds design. The made for tv movie aired in 1991. I remember the concept car & I thing Revell made a model of the Banshee car too

Unfortunatly you need to read this--
When the producers of Knight Rider 2000 went to General Motors and asked for permission to use the Pontiac Banshee Concept Car for the Knight 4000, GM declined, saying that if the movie turned into the series, they would be once again swamped by requests for the "Knight 4000 Car." So the producers turned to Jay Ohrberg Star Cars Inc. for help. Ohrberg and his staff constructed a car which resembled the Banshee on top of a 1991 Dodge Stealth

The beloved wanna be 4th gen bird was merely a lowly dodge stealth in sheeps clothing

The truth hurts sometimes huh ? ( sorry for the bad pics/image file size,, best I could do,, ya know,,)

Guess I'm done ruining things for the evening,, time to turn the lights out. Laterz

I picked up the Knight Rider first episode from Columbia house and its pretty good, its from 1982,its 2 hours long and shows how david hasselhoff became michael knight and his introduction to KITT,its not bad,i thought it was pretty cool,so if you buy $hit through columbia house then pick it up.

Has anyone seen the preview for the new movie "The Fast and The Furious", this movie looks like it's goin be awesome, it's about 1/4 drag racing. The only thing is there are imports in this movie, I swear if I go and see this movie and the import cars win races I will be pissed. On the commercial I can't tell what kind of car it is but this car does like a 5 ft. wheel stand. June 22nd can't wait.

I think this import drag race movie will just make us thirdgen owners more annoyed, because every little punk who owns some jap crap will think he has a fast and furious piece of sushi,we will have twice as many annoying weedwhacker driving jerks revving us wherever we go,damn there annoying, but if they pull up to me and old Cammi with there fart can i will have to get there girls panties wet with the hum of my small block V-8,lol,and then i will smoke there a$$.

in "FAST IN FURIOUS" i think the muscle car that doest the 5 foot wheelstand is a 71' charger, does resemble a bit of a 67'-69' camaro. I dont care i wanna see that movie. The minute i saw the commercial, i thought ahh another import movie, until i saw that muscle car do a wheel stand, well lets just say theres a big hole in my wall, Whats the movie about???

The Fast and the Furious, what kind of crap is this? I know I wont be spending my money to see some fart tipped ***** out-run a decent American car that it could never really have a chance against. It's sad that there are people who drive those cars, it's sadder that there's somebody making a movie about it. I saw in a preview where some guy was talking about the 1/4 mile and he said something about "....in those 10 seconds or less..." WHAT'S THAT CRAP? It pisses me off. Hollywood, that's all I know to say....
