What are those first ones? The only bigger crosslace-style wheels I've seen are the Year One ones, or almost crosslace-like wheels.
Photoshoped or real pics?

I vote #1 for cross lace reference.

Yeah, he said they were the Year One wheels and that they're photo shopped.Originally Posted by Stephen

....for pointing out that I can't read "year one" in his post!
Too overpriced for my blood. Back to my choices!

I don't like gold or chrome rims so I think that throws both of them out.
#1 but in all dark gray or black with polished lip.

for the size of the rim i have decided on 17x9 all around, what would be the correct bs for that 5 or 5.5 bs? and also thanks for the feedback keep it coming

I just HAD to know....Gold centered wheels, on my white GTA....Hope ya don't mind!

IMHO wheel #1 is bad... i like # 2 much better
nicely done, thats the next thing on photoshop i have to figure out, painting a car
Supreme Member
the snowflake/crosslaced wheels look really good in photoshop, but i have a feeling it would look goofy in real life. the centerlines look good
Supreme Member
I vote the YearOne crosslaces, i love those wheels. Go with a 17/18 staggered look. i would highly recommend getting 255 or 275 front, and atleast 295 rear. My rears are 9.5" and i got 275, they have a "reverse" bulge, and im kicking myself for not getting 295s....
Im not a fan of the vette wheels, they look better on camaros.
Heres some pix, (stock height) but the springs are sagging a bit. SO i think 18s would look better in the back.

I like the rims in the 2nd pic better but they both look good on the car.

I vote for the 1st set, they look sick, Although I think they'd look even better if the centers were black like some of the GTA or the Turbo buicks!

centerlines!!!!!

I think the photoshop of the Year One wheels, adds a goofy look that isnt there in real life. The picture you chose of the wheels was good for a chop, but bad for a reference. The beauty in these wheels lies in the depth, and that beautiful polished lip with all that dish.

But,only the 12"s have that big of a dish. The 9"s are much shallower. It'd be pretty cool if we could fit 12"s on the fronts of our cars, and under the fenders.

I vote #2. Attached image is someone elses car, I believe its 87TPI. I think it looks hot !!

Yeah the smokey and the bandit edition is great but the pheonix's head is facing the wrong direction. should be to the left.

I agree. The side profile of those wheels is just badass in that picture. I think they also look good because its on a black car and they accent each other nicely. The wheels don't even look the same in that photo-shopped picture.Originally Posted by slow_90firebird

is for #2. For that size of rim, a more squared, less busy pattern looks better.

the lesser of the two ugly rims is the one on the right. according to a 22 yr old college kid, in case that matters...

Wow.. I know my taste isn’t the same as the norm, but I was still surprised to find so many people liking number 1.
When I saw the rims11.jpg (bre trans am) rims, I made an audible sound of disgust.
I thought the sub1.jsp (lazers) were better, still not ideal in my mind, but better.
I just felt that the bre ones had too much open space.
When I saw Stephen’s post about the gold centered wheels on white GTA, the first thought that came to mind was, it’s a Pimp’s ride.
When I saw online170’s picture of YearOne’s crosslaces, I thought, well these are much better.
The Rims that karl’s-92-z28 posted look pretty nice too, though seeing them on a car might help.
All of this is just my honest opinion, and like I said, I don’t always agree with the norm.
Most of these opinions are just my first reaction, who knows, some of these rims could grow on me in time.
I also would like to mention, make sure the wheel manufactures makes a rim that will fit on your car as well. Sometimes they don’t, and either you have to pay much higher price for custom that don’t look the same when you get them, or you just can’t get it customized to fit.
Just an FYI, incase you have not thought about that.
In the end, pick what you want and what you enjoy because in the end, you have already made the most important correct choice, which is owning a 3rd gen.

you have difficulty to choose and you are in the states!! what do I have to say for me??
I am afraid that I buy rims only from pics, pay the same price of the rims for shipping and also have to pay the duty just when they arrive, and I cannot burn the tyres as I like because 2 rear tyres will cost me 3 times as much to bring a pair again from us!! a I will not find them here!!
I am the one that I need help to buy rims!! I like the irocs but not chrome!!, wish i find them in polished aluminium!
here is also a pic of my car to hear some opinions of what you think of my ride??
as always said, in Malta there are only about 30 f body's
