How would this rear spoiler look on my car?

This spoiler came with my car unattatched, but the holes are already drilled for it.
If I put it on, I'll be painting it a gloss black first(and put lenses over the lights of course)
It's tilting towards the back right right now because it's just sitting there and the wires for the lights are in the middle.

I...I'm not sure if I'll want to put it on. I'm having mixed feelings about it.

What do you all think? If I don't use it, I'll sell it..but..that won't take care of the 6 holes I've got in my car.

On a side note..yes that's a faxmachine/printer in the car
No, I don't have the back seats in there
Sorry the pictures are dark
Sorry the car is dirty. It's hard to keep clean when you have cats walking all over it..and dirty roads.

Here's the pics:

I appreciate any feedback.
Thanks.

I know the high rise wing is done to death, but since there appears to be no holes in your quarters I would try that. The wing in the pic is all wrong for a camaro. Try selling it on ebay to get some money out of it.

Re: How would this rear spoiler look on my car?

Thanks all..really..I wasn't loving it, either.

It helps to get a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th opinion though

So..I have three holes for each spoiler mount. Two for the screws and one for the light wires.
Do you think I could find another to fit that? Right now it's just got aluminum foil covering the holes.
Am I asking too many questions for this thread?

EDIT: By the way, the wing has a chip or two in it..probably would bring the price down alot? The thing's plastic, feels almost hollow, and is red on the underside. The side you're seeing is bare.

Post pics of the holes. Measurements would help. Someone will definitely be able to help you.

Something I forgot to put on the picture:
The holes are 3/8" diameter.

By the way..they're perfectly drilled..it looks messed up because there's aluminum foil over them.

Holes:

Re: How would this rear spoiler look on my car?

I'm not into it. It doesn't follow the lines of the car. If you want a rear wing that's a little more suited for a thirdgen, try the 4th gen spoiler from hawks--or even a thirdgen aero wing. I forget his name, but there's a guy on this board with a 4th gen wing on his Camaro.

Re: How would this rear spoiler look on my car?

I love the regular stock Z28 spoiler but if you want a wing you should use the 4th gen its the best wing for a camaro.

Re: How would this rear spoiler look on my car?

those holes may be similar to say an 88 Sports coupe spoiler, doubtful that it's identical though. You have many options, 82-92 lip spoiler, started on the Z28s, eventually optionable on every car, to the 91/92 RS's, you have the 91/92 high rise spoiler that came on the camaro Z28s, or the low profile spoiler offered first in 88 on the base model sport coupes, if you kinda like that spoiler and want something similar there is the pedistal spoiler of base model firebirds 85-92 (trans am spoiler 82-84), or you can get the 85-90 wrap around spoiler, or 91/92 wrap around spoiler of the formula's and trans ams. It's all up to you, and most look good on camaros if they didn't belond there in the first place.

Re: How would this rear spoiler look on my car?

Thanks all, but I don't know if any of the spoilers mentioned would fit the holes that're in my car already.

It's a Camaro Sport Coupe v6 2.8l. I have a/c and heater but everything else is pretty much base.

And..they were in there when I bought the car lol.
So..it wasn't me.

Whatever spoiler I get it'll be painted gloss black since I took the car to the guy-who-painted-it's son and he couldn't match the paint when he did some body work around my windshield. The paintjob was done 10yrs. ago so I suppose I'm not surprised.

Right now, I don't have the money for a new spoiler. Really, I'm waiting for enough money to do a 2.8-3.4 swap. This was just something I could do in the meantime.

Don't get me wrong, though. Any help is appreciated and won't go to waste. I plan on getting this done eventually.

By the way, OneWheelPeel..awesome camaro! Yeah, I see the wing and I'm not sure if it's for me..but I can see why you'd suggest it.

Thanks 84RedTA! That's really informative..
if they don't match I suppose that when it comes down to it, I could always get one custom.

By the way..I think that if I get a spoiler, I prefer one with a brake light on it. This one has two..but one would be fine.

Re: How would this rear spoiler look on my car?

you will not find a spoiler that you like that also happens to match the holes you have in your deck lid... so just give up on that impossibility. It isn't like they used standard dimensions when they created that spoiler.

You will need to either replace your decklid (which is easiest to do by replacing the entire hatch), or get those holes welded shut and have the new spoiler installed and repaint the whole decklid at that time. Stock spoilers will save you alot of money over aftermarket ones, and 9 out of 10 times will look better too.

Re: How would this rear spoiler look on my car?

I'm sure it wouldn't be too expensive to get a decklid with the holes already there for the type of spoiler you want (assuming you choose a gm spoiler). Heck, you can probably even find the spoiler! Either way, you'll have to paint the spoiler and the decklid. Kick the guy you bought it from for drilling into an exotic paint job.

Re: How would this rear spoiler look on my car?

Keep that spoiler ... but modify it. It does look like crap in it's current version, however if you use fiberglass, plus some cutting, to match the body lines of the Camaro, you may be able to get it to work.

Buy a new hatch w/o holes and sell the hatch and spoiler on ebay!

Re: How would this rear spoiler look on my car?

The only problem is that my paintjob can't be matched.
I took it to the guy-who-did-it's son for some body work around the windshield and ended up having to do it black because he couldn't match it.

I don't know about the cutting and fibreglass...I'll think about it..but I'm no fabricator.

I actually have an extra rear hatch(the guy I bought it from is giving it to me..I just haven't picked it up yet).

But..I'll most definitely be selling the spoiler when I get to it.

As for welding the holes shut..I think I'll just use some Bondo. If not that, I'm in luck because my brother is a welder..and a damn good one.

Thanks for all of the replies, everyone
