I have 5 star spoke weld racing rims on my 92 camaro rs and one is literally falling apart. It has started cracking around the inside of the wheel near the spokes and has actually began to split in half. the weld between the front and back halves of the wheel is coming apart and it has a cm size crack between. is this waranteed? Ide hate to have to pay 300$ for another but This is definately a factory defect i didnt hit anything and it is literally falling apart. What should i do?

what is the rim model?? prostars i'm assuming.. post up a picture of where the crack is..

if it is a set of prostars, you CANNOT take turns very hard.. the rim design is made for drag racing, not to take turns.. any sort of hard turning with prostars can crack them since the side load on the rims is very small.. the rim will deflect and crack..

 

i have seen pics of prostars that crack on the inside twist completely and the spokes seperate from the lip of the rim causeing the collapse of the rim and possible damage to the car. I recommend calling the company but considering another rim choice. I wanted prostars but from what 5678TA stated i think that i will pass and keep looking into iroc replicas. Those wheels say on the box, not for street use. Why guys keep putting them on street cars when it is known they are not for turning........
