I have a car, right now its blue <which i really dont like on third gens, even if the one i fell in love with back in 86 was dark blue> and some white body parts. In about 2 days it is going to be completely gutted <i.e its gutted now except one seat, and cargo carpet> and i am going to remove the engine, weatherstriping, shave the door handles,locks and side mirrors.

Anyway here is my delema. Its been a year long delema too. Do i paint the car purple or orange. I saw a pic a few post down and orange looks soooo cool. I think my iroc hood with the lovers will add to it. I also have this thing for doing it dark purple with yellow iroc lettering. Any input is helpful.

 

Dark purple with yellow lettering would OWN!!!! take my advice this color looks better, cops wont notice you out of a crowd, and if your insurance company cars, some do.., brighter colrs raise insurance.

Go with the nice hugger orange, that would be sooo beautiful. I'll have to frown on your other idea, i think purple cars with yellow accents are kinda scary looking ,or any other color with yellow accents for that matter! I remember seeing a red sunfire with yellow mirrors and decals(yes a nice big one on the window) i had to cringe, oh yeah, it had a big coffee pot on the back too!. That's just my thoughts, do what you like to do with it - it's your car.

 

Yeah, def oarnge.... I think purple is like pink.... straight up GAY! (and no i dont give a sh*t that is a dark shade of purp!) You asked for opinions.....

 

have you thought of dark purple base with orange lettering? I think that would look excellent. Perhaps some orange heritage stripes or something. A subdued orange like hugger would be a lot less nauseating than yellow. (besides, everyone does yellow!)

 

I would go with orange, that would look awesome!

I have an alt. Try House of Kolors Kameleon color KF-07 purple to orange.When you look at the car's paint strait on,it will be purple.From the side,orange.It's not commonly used so it will be different,and you get the best of both.Contact House of Kolor via e-mail and see for your self.I use HoK on most of my paint jobs.Its the best I've found.

i find purple much nicer than orange, orange seems like a weird color.

I would kill to be able to paint my car that new sunset orange color. It looks amazing but is very subtle compared to hugger orange. I personally think it takes away from some cars and almost makes them a bit gawdy looking sometimes but I don't know how it would look on your car. Purple I could leave bcause it was a fad that was over 5 yrs ago. You see a lot of people swtiching to yellow now....it seems to be the new color of choice. Sunset orange is awesome in my opinion.

 

I would go with chevy orange. I think orange IROCS look badass. BTW its not delema its dilemma... :P
