I Can get vinyl for $50 and paint is like $400. I like the idea that I can tear of the vinyl if i don't like it and $400 is way to much. Does any know of any problems with vinyl?

Vinyl will eventually peel, chip, and fade. Paint is much better all the way around. Plus with paint you don't have to worry about wax buildup along the edges (assuming you are clearcoating over them).

A buddy of mine just repainted his and wanted a 25th anniv look, like mine, white with the red stripes. He had the shop paint his on and they look so much better. The decals look and appear to sit above the paint as you would expect but the painted stripes blend with the white. I have no problem with the wax buildup if done correctly.

For 50 bucks, who cares? I cut vinyl as a side job and if you pay for the good stuff it will last up to 7 years. They have a good shine to them now too. You can get the in a super thin mill too! It's all up to you, and like you said, for 50 bucks, you can peal them up and throw them away anyway. I cut my own, but I'd still have to paint the power blisters, so I'll wait...

And for all you who think the wax build up is a problem. You must be the type who waxes his/her car in 5 minutes, because it only takes a couple minutes to clean any build up off. Lazy people...

Vinyl is where it's at. It's super durable & looks just as good as paint if done right. Mine had GTS style stipes on it & I took them off a few weeks ago (still looked great but thought they'd be too much w/ my new cowl hood), I let the car sit in the sun for a few hours & had them off w/in 30mins! Even though they were so easy to peel off, the car had be washed a gazillion times, etc. without even a single corner starting to lift.
Also, my hood blisters had vinyl stripes to, someone had taken some time cutting them right but don't require painting....
