Anybody going to Super Chevy Show in Alabama?

I know I might get locked on this one, but there isn't a regional board for Alabama. I went to the Super Chevy Show in Montgomery, AL last year and there were hardly ANY third gens represented there at the car show. It's September 28-30...anybody planning on going? It would be great to have a good showing from some of the thirdgen members. My father-in-law and I will DEFINITELY be there again this year.

I know that I will be there at least as a spectator. I will probably enter too, but I am not sure right now.

I will be there. I will probably be spectating also, I want to compete in the bracket race with the 82 Z, but I haven't upgraded my car to to pass the 11.99 safety tech yet. I may show the RS though. I hope to see you there.

P.S. David, Did you get my E mail?? If not, I am going to Reynolds tomorrow night for T-N-T. Hope to you there.

I wish I had to deal with my car running faster than 11.99...that'll probably happen this side of never

Surely SOMEBODY else is going to the show this year, too...

I might. Maybe we can caravan up there. I have a friend with a yellow 92 who might as well, and maybe I'll find someone to drive my 'vert up there.

It would be nice to see a good Thirdgen showing for a change. There is a guy that lives here in town that always takes a Teal 92 Z28 w/ a Vortech Supercharger to the Montgomery show. I hope to see all of you down if you make it.

Hey, I'm probably going. I want to see some good 3rd gen's up close. I have soccer so if I don't have a tournament or any games and if my coach doesn't need me too bad then I'll go. I'm 16... hopefully my mom let's me drive over there haha. I might enter in it next year as I hope to have it looking a lot better by then.

Jamie/Jason Bassett: I met that guy with the teal Z last year...that car is whoa-bad. It sure did have me droolin'.

Jza: A caravan sounds cool. Last year, Adrian (my father-in-law, his screen name is 92BlackZ) and I drove our Camaros up there together and it was SO cool. We got quite a few looks with my red car/black stripes and his black car/red stripes. If we do like we did before, he will meet me at my house in Fairhope that Friday and we'll clean up our rides. We'll leave Saturday morning before daylight so we can have plenty of time to spend at the show. OR, we may end up leaving on Friday. Anyway, e-mail me if you're interested at scbaeb@hotmail.com.

Yes the teal is one BADA$$ ride. I know the guy who owns it, but I don't know his first. His son's names are David and Donald Hand, so I've always just called him "Mr. Hand" but he is sure to be there again. Do you by any chance remember a Red 71 Camaro RS, A red Porsche w/ a 383 and a 6-71 blower, or an Aqua 77 Corvette?? Those are three of the guys I cruise with here in town also. I didn't have my RS then, and my 82 isn't exactly show quality, but I been there spectating the last three years. I am really hoping to bring one of them this year though.

I'm really glad to see that some of you care going to make it. For those that are considering it, keep in mind that your car doesn't have to be P-E-R-F-E-C-T to show! My car is a daily driver (20K miles/year) and it has its fair share of nicks in the paint, but I'm gonna show it anyway. I don't really plan on winning anything, but the fun part is just participating and meeting fellow Camaro owners. There were so few people there last year that I won runner-up in the Modified category simply because I was the only other guy there! Heck, I think it costs about the same to enter your car as it does to just be a spectator. You'll pay $40 to show it all weekend and $30 as a spectator for Saturday & Sunday. It's worth $10 to show off your car to hundreds of people. I had several people walk up to me at the show and talk about how they wished they had brought their thirdgen. Check out their web site at www.superchevyshow.com to learn more about it.
