Didnt read the whole post, but i really think an oldschool Z28 emblem would look badass.

It would look out of place on a 3rd gen, well at least mine since I still have all the factory emblems on the car.

I'm holding onto them in case I want to put it back to stock later down the road.

Damn it man, I wan't that, and when you see my ride with a similar grill, I will be the first to say I bit off your style. That looks freakin nice.... I hate to ask all the same questions again, but what did it take to mount, and where did you get the grill material ?

Looks great man, your vert is an inspiration to me. Very nice clean look and a super powerful blue color.

Its fine I got the material from customcargrills.com, and actually the method I ended up using to mount it was industrial strength velcro strips. You would never know by looking, and honestly it would be very difficult to pull the grill off without taking a knife blade into the crack surrounding it to cut away the mesh. It's in there permanently.

Mind giving up the exactly link to what you bought on their site? I know there are universal mesh grill sheets, body kit mesh, and mesh grills.

Looks excellent for sure!!!

I liked the emblem in the first pics, but after seeing the finished pics, I vote for removing the emblem. Great job on the grill!

Re: BlueZee's custom grill 101...with test fit photos

Looks really good. I say keep the emblem, it works with the car. Only thing I could add would be, maybe use one of the smaller emblems(interior or something) might look better or might try moving the emblem down an inch. But either way, really nice car man.

I really hate to say it because the car is gorgeous, but I don't like it. I think the stock grille looked much better. It does look better without the emblem though, IMO.

BlueZee, i think it looks pretty good. Distinctive yet tasteful. Nice work. Did you end up using a d-sided tape or velcro to mount it?

I like it....if the emblem matches the other "Z28" tags then it is a good match

Re: BlueZee's custom grill 101...with test fit photos

If I didn't like my IROC grille as much as I do, I'd do that. I think it works well because you used a quality mesh, not the thin wire stuff you see on most stuff like this for imports.
I wonder how one would look if you could fab up some lettering to match the CAMARO lettering like on my 85-90 grille...??

The emblem is from an older year IROC, so it's not identical, but you would never notice unless you saw the car in person.

I'm sure that would look pretty cool, but would have to be centered on the grill I think.

Re: BlueZee's custom grill 101...with test fit photos

dude that **** is freaking sick, love the look. ill go with the rest of the guys to take off the stock grill with the emblem and then cut that plastic behind and especially for all the tpi owners make a custom tpi intake type of thing something like what slp makes for our cars just making one out of aluminum or so that would be a bigger open space to breathe, let me know what you think bro.

laterz.

That looks pretty cool, but I think it would look nicer in black like Bluezee's.
With that aluminum color, the car kinda looks like it has a mouthful of braces on..hehe.

Not yet...in fact I just got the darn thing running again yesterday. I could have sworn I needed a new battery because I couldn't even jump start it, but after having the battery tested I realized there was a mix of loose connection and corrosion on one of the battery cables. I got it sorted out and haven't had time to drive it anywhere yet. I've got a job interview this afternoon and 3 exams on Thursday. I'll get some more pictures real soon though.

I love it, just the way you posted in the first picture with the Z28 badge. Definitely original (for the next month or so)

You make me want to sell my bird for a camaro right now.

Thanks, I come through Columbia every once in a blue moon. It's not very often, and usually just passing by on my way to KC.

Thanks, that's actually how I left it, with the emblem on there. Unfortunately I am yet to get a good enough photo of the car to replace my sig picture with, but I'll work on that later.
