DeBoTech makes those. It's a nascar filter for 16" aircleaner elements. They are usually painted white on the outside but I liked the bare carbon better, even if it shows the marks from vacuum bagging (the perfect carbon is on the inside)

I also have these, same as the ball milled ones above, just not ball milled.

GM Peformance Parts Chevy Competition Valve Covers
Re: Lets see your valve covers!
I love them GM Peformance Parts Chevy Competition Valve Covers, however they are not centerbolt covers. What needs to be done to change them over? Centerbolt covers are ugly in my opinion, do you need to swap heads to have ones without centerbolt? TPI setup covers them up anyways though, i dont even know why i would consider.

You need a set of adapter plates. They are not cheap though.

Re: Lets see your valve covers!
I have 2 sets, they never leaked. One thing I do is use studs on the perimeter holes, that way you will not distort the pltes when you bolt down the valve covers. Also some permatex sealer works miracles.

Re: Lets see your valve covers!
I'll have to try the RTV. The studs I'm using on the perimeter don't hold onto the adapters very well, so when tigtening down the nuts, its almost spinning the studs in their holes.

Re: Lets see your valve covers!
I'm not using RTV, I'm using aircraft form a gasket, it's a thick black/brownish smelly goop that you brush one. It looks like condensated oil and comes in a white bottle witha twist cap with brush.

Re: Lets see your valve covers!
I have those too and they are porous, they started oozing oil so I stripped them bare and coated the inside with glyptal.
Re: Lets see your valve covers!
Hey Twin Turbo,
No problems with clearance? AC and all? I put those on the '68 but since the bay is a little more open, i had no problem. I wanted to put em on the Formula but i didnt think i had enough room.

Re: Lets see your valve covers!
They're installed on my 83 truck it has plenty of room for them, it doesnt have AC but a home made AC eliminator heater box. I don't know if they would fit with AC on an f body.

Proforms, just like the ball milled posted earlier, without the ball milling....
....add silver metallic powdercoat....
...add gunmetal metallic vinyl graphics...
...add GM badge....
I think in the future though, i'm gonna go with these VC's, but with black crinkle.

Re: Lets see your valve covers!
Work in progress. It's dirty, and all the aluminum is smudged and finger printed. Once I get everything buttoned up, I will clean it all up.

Re: Lets see your valve covers!
I always dug the polished aluminum look even when it oxidizes... Mine are in dire need of a good polish job at this point... but I still think it looks way better than chrome.

I kinda wish they were the ones that said "CAMARO" across them, though, but whatever.
