We came up with the clears because they look good on our cars(or at least most the people that have posted in think so), and we want something different for our cars. I know I want something different. I am sick of having the same fu*kin car as everyone else. As I have said before I am not a "3rd gen purist" I believe in modding a car to the persons taste. Hell it's your friggin car do what ever the hell you want to to it who the hell cares what other people think. "Do us a favor and grow a set do what you want to it and look better for it", at least thats my opinion on the topic.
remember blue dots, and shaved and scallops tails??????
modifying one's taillights has been an idea and a concept since the early days of rodding. I can see all the lead sleds and 3-window coupes, and the fuelie 57 bel-air drivers calling each other ricers. c'mon guys keep your all out negativaty to your selves. a little is ok though.

I believe someone photoshopped clear tail lights onto my f-bird on another post.
I think this is the post: https://www.thirdgen.org/messgboard/...ML/002633.html

I dont really like the photoshoped firebird clears, thats just my opinion though. I think the Camaro ones look very good, and if I had a Camaro I'd deffinietly try to make the clears for it. They look great!
I saw a photo shopped somewhere else that was a 'bird and it looked a lot better than that. The "euro/Altezza"s look like pure *hit on our cars so clear is the way to go, if you would like something different and not be "just another clone". Again I say to those that do not the idea and are "purist's" the just do not post into this tread.
And yes I do remember the blue dot craze... I thought it was kinda funny that some one brought that up. I liked the single big 7 inch round headlights with the dots personally. I never really liked them in the tails cause you could never really see them.

ok, I see someone has come down and returned to the more mature state and ok, now that you have stated your points in a suttle(spelling??) way I can accept your ideas, but if anyone has they Idea of euros, well...that I WILL NOT get started on, you are right on the clears being better then that.

i wanna see how far my idea is off from them...
is anyone making them/??? or plan on making them??
if my design isnt as good as theirs ill buy a set off them...
incentive..perhaps...
btw...i spoke to apc at the skydome in canada during importfest (december) and they are DEFINATELY NOT making them for our cars..not enough demand..

I cant find that book at the site you sent, I did a search for vacuum forming and all they had was the plans to build some sort of box.
I looked in the book section and still no luck so now i dont know what to do. somebody help me!
I would be really interested in trying this and if I end up being any good at it I could maybe make some more. but I need help getting this started.

I remember last summer I seen I 82-84 SC with clear tailights, didn't get a good look at them cause he was going the other way, he also had a spoiler like Iroc2nv's old one, I'll see if I can track him down this summer and ask him about them, even though I have no intrest in clear taillights, I'll still try to help out some fellow Third Genners

Damn, this thread was started July of '01!!!
Cool to see it come around again!
Thats what I was wondering. Seems like you're only making the inside of the mold, don't you have to have an outside as well as stated in the quote above?
