Question about the Windshield - Need a quick answer please...

Hey guys,

I have two T/A's standing in my driveway. One has a badly cracked windshield the other ones is good. I know I shouldn't try to put in a windshield myself, but is it ok to take one off yourself, and how do you do it? (I'm a broke student who doesn't have any $$$ to pay for labor)

Thanks for the help,
-Max

Well, I definitely wouldn't recomend doing it your self. i've never done it but it was explained to me-so don't take my word for gospel-but-You'll need to get yourself some wire, piano or guitar waire-would help if you have someone help you-remove the outer molding around the windshield-grab a lower end a pull it out all the way around-next make a small hole in the sealent w/maybe a small drill or awl, and feed the wire through-then wrap something around each end of the wire to use as a handle-or you'll cut your fingers up-then just like you're sawing a piece of wood-you and your buddy go at it! You pull and then he pulls-etc-keep going all the way around-being careful as you do it. Good luck and feel free to e-mail me if anything isn't clear.
Ever try to call diamond auto glass? I lived in Nj and they were pretty big there. Ask them if they would install it for you if you pull it out--can't hurt!

Thanks Tony,

That doesn't sound too hard, my friend plays guitar so I should be able to get my hands on some wire.
