Cell phone antenne.....

well someone thought it would be a good idea to put a hands free phone in my car before I got it, and now I got this nasty *** antenna base on the rear glass. What I want to know is, do those stupid *** antennas go through holes in the glass? Or is a miracle and I can just go in and take it off. Because the problem is that my car is a factory notchback, and I don't think I would even be able to get a new piece of glass to go back there. any ideas?

Re: Cell phone antenne.....

They don't go through the glass, they work on a capacitive principle and send the signal from one plate to the other through the glass. It's a VERY strong adhesive they use though to stick them on (inside and out). You might want to be really careful on the inside so you don't damage the defroster lines.

Go to walgreens and find a product called ''goo begone''. its the best adhesive remover I have ever used.

straight up ammonia should eat it away too. it works well on things like that. just wear a mask because that stuff is strong. and as someone else stated, don't scratch the defrogger lines

You can also use a piece of fishing line to cut the box off then use the goo gone to remove the adhesive.
