86 berlinetta Looking for Iroc look?
hey everyone I'm new around here just bought an 86 berlinetta and I absolutely hate the front bumper it doesn't have the flare arroud the bottom or anything to the best of my judgment it is a completley different bumper so my question is will it bolt right up if I can find one at the junkyard and what about the side skirt how hard would they be to install thanks a bunch any other ideas to make this beast look better would be great as well thanks everyone!

in my opinion, i think it looks awesome to see just the stock berlinetta body. i own an 86 iroc-z that has all those skirts and lips and whatnot. but im a fan of the berlinettas, i think they look pretty sick if theyre lowered with the stock look.

Re: 86 berlinetta Looking for Iroc look?
Welcome to TGO. Yes the front and rear bumpers will bolt right up. The front ground effect will need some holes drilled in the fenders to mount right. No big deal. I have dont the swap from a 85 Sport coupe to having all Z28 ground effects. Wasn't that bad. I liked the looks better. Heres my cardomain and shows some pics of it. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2147369/2 I had another guy from car domain help me do it and here is the link to his step by step instructions. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/824993/7 i hope this helps. Anything else just ask -Matt

definitely going to be lowering the car haha only by like an inch maybe but I cant seem to find any hope for that front bumper I hate it lol thanks for the replies I appreciate it think I'm just going to to the bumper and side skirts and leave the rear bumper as is I think it would look pritty cool
(oops I guess I shoulda posted this in the body section haha sorry)

I love the how much the curves are shown off without the ground effects.. but I cannot stand the front bumper with the tri slot nose.. it looks so out of place on the car. The car looks beefy without the GFX but i just cant get over that front bumper..
btw mine is an 83 sport coupe

totally with you on the bumper like i said lol its horrible im considering not even putting the ground effect on the sides and modding the z28 bumper a bit so it doesnt look stupid without the side ground effects on cuz like you said i love the curves and stance of the car without the ground effects but that bumper deffinetly has gata go lol

imagine if the 3 holes weren't in the front of the bumper. They look like the iroc bumper just without the ground effects on them. Looks prety good.

well the majority of the ones i see are painted black, and when its black its hard to see the 3 slits from far away. and even when upclose still looks good

i looked for the pic but couldn't find it. There was a white one that looked just like the the iroc bumper but no ground effects but looked good tho.

eh i suppose, personally i still don't think that i would like it lol wish they made a kit just to add the ground effects to that bumper lol should be a few dead camaro's in my area tho shouldn't be a problem to get the z28 bumper

Re: 86 berlinetta Looking for Iroc look?
classic industries sell kits like that. They will look more fitting then just slapping on a Z28 chin spoiler on the berlinetta nose.

Here it is... Its pricey but still its about the only kit that i kno of other than getting factory. But id rather have factory ground effects from an iroc -Matt
