Engine Painting
Engine Painting
I know alot of GM engines where that daul blue, but most of our camaro engines were all black. Everything under there is just about black. And its really boring. I know some people do red, or orange, but I usaully see those colors on older cars.
Now I'd like to keep some stock feel to the car, so I'm thinking, black engine, red accents, lots of shiney chrome. Anyone have an engine color combos they perfer? Just looking for ideas, pics too perhapps.
Also anyone recomment the best pain and heat temp?

I think this engine looks GREAT. It has a real clean, sterile look to it. Simple and nice.
Basically the entire engine is flat black except the valve covers, runners, plenum, and throttle body. (the valve covers are from an L98 Corvette.. in case anyone is wondering)
If you go to any parts store, they should have engine paint. Thats what I used, and it still looks great 3 years (~25k miles) later.

that does look real nice. What helps is that car is red. Mine is black, black inside of black on black, lol. But I like that look. I also have a 305, didn't know I could turbo charge it, but mine is TBI not TPI.
The block itself is black, powdercoated blue intake and plenty of chrome.

I have had good luck with VHT high heat paints and Duplicolor high heat paints. In particular Duplicolor makes a satin black DH1602 I think thats pretty cool under hood paint for pulleys and such. I also like paints from:
