Painting

I plan on painting my 1991 Camaro RS, but I am thinking a thre color scheme. I haven't seen any three color schemes on the photo pages, if any are out there I would love to have a look before I paint mine. I only have seen one or two color schemes

Re: Painting

I think a three color scheme could be pulled off really nicely as long as the chosen colors compliment each other (no contrasting colors!)

This could look really good:

1st color - charcoal roof, hood, trunk lid/spoiler

2nd color - black line that seperates the roof to the bottom of the body, probably would look best as a shoulder line along the crease in the quarter panels/top of the doors, fender line right next to the hood

3rd color - sebring silver lower body

Then since it is a '91 and it has the aero ground effects, you could take the charcoal and paint the inverted areas ("scoops") in the ground effects to give a slight contrast to the silver.

Top it off with either chrome or black wheels.

Re: Painting

Thanks, I had some ideas that I think would look really cool but kind of nervous about pulling it together. Some folks want it to remain white but I want to step out the box a little, you have a nice idea with the colors you mentioned. I am still deciding. Thanks

Re: Painting

I think three colors would be hard to pull off are you trying to go three colors with some sort of design or just three colors that all go together and kind of blend.

Re: Painting

I think you have a great idea.I think it is best to choose colors that will have a high contrast.Pick a light color, a dark color, and a bright color(primary).
I think that black, silver and red make for a great color combo.

I know these arent Camaros but you get the idea...

Good luck with your decision and keep us posted on what you decide!

Re: Painting

Those Foose pics are nice, that's actually what I was going to suggest,is to choose two colors that work well, and then divide them with a stripe or graphic like Foose typically does.

Also take the color of your interior into consideration when choosing your paint so that the car flows well.

Just my .02
