Finally got the money to paint it... help on color please

Transmission: 700R4
Finally got the money to paint it... help on color please
I have an 84 Z28 that is perfect inside. Paint is really bad. The original was charcoal which is kind of a grey/brown. I have always wanted a black camaro so that is where my heart is.
However, the car only has 67k on it and some people are telling me to keep it original color for value.
What do you guys think?

What do you think about the ground effects? Paint them black too or leave them gray? If I leave them gray I will need the striping kit.

I would go with a gun metal gray metallic myself. But then, I like to stand out from the crowd.
It's kinda funny how maybe 10% of thirdgens were originally black from the factory.....now it seems more than 80% of them are.

LOL FRYCHKN........ I would deff. do what you want. Honestly a camaro looks good stock but there are so many people want stock. If i where you i would go crazy, candy paint, hell even a matte orange. This is the time to paint YOUR car he way YOU want to. I bet there is a paint combination that you have loved since a kid, well take it and run with it. 09 is a new year so go out and make it yours.
