I've lurked around these forums for info and help for a long time, but just now posting. Anyway, to the point. I have a '91 Camaro RS 3.1 originally Medium Maui Blue which has been repainted at least once. I've sanded the car down and fixed some dents and rust. I'm going to paint it the original color Medium Maui Blue, but I want to put racing stripes on it. The guy before me painted white racing stripes over the clear coat of his terrible and cheap paint job. I actually like the way the stripes look on the car though. What I need an opinion from you guys/gals is, should I paint white ones back onto it or black stripes. I've seen some cars with darker blue paint with black stripes and I think it looks really slick on a car with no chrome.

I think black would look great. White on the other hand, if done nicely, might make the car stand out a little better. For a more traditional look, black. For standing out, white.

 

i agree white would make it stand out alot more than black

 

If the cars going to be a lighter shade of blue, why not take that same color but a deeper darker blue. Like a midnight blue for the stripes.

 

 

Show me a blue car with black stripes. I'm sure there's gotta be ONE somewhere. ...although I doubt there's many. Mustangs, Cammies, Mopars, Vettes....sheesh...I'm having a hard time thinking of ANY blue classic muscle with black stripes. ...ALL HAD WHITE.

...anyhow. White all the way, if you're going with ANY Blue. Hands down. 100% no doubt.
