OK, I've always like the blue bowtie on the early year cars. Doesn't matter what color your car is, the bowtie is BLUE!!!!!! ...but I wanted to make it a little more 80's style, plus I needed it to fit OUR grill.

...so, used a 300 grit pad on a Dewalt palm sander, and sanded down all the "CAMARO". ...woulda been easier with a 91/92 grille, but that's not what I had.

Then I made paper patterns and cut two bowties out of 3m PVC using an exacto knife, and sanded them with 800 grit wet.

I had to compensate for the slight bend, so a torch provided the heat, and physics did the rest. For extra insurance against the bowtie comin' off, I countersunk six screws into the bottom bowtie. Overkill? Absolutely. Manly fun? -of course!

Satin Black Krylon Fusion on the main grill and bottom bowtie, Merceded Silver Testors on the top bowtie.

When dry, the top silver bowtie was stuck with 3m double sided tape to the rest of the grill. Then, with help from the shops vinyl plotter, I cut out a reflective blue, and black decal.

....and here's the results. Gotta say I love it. Not for everyone, but I dig it

And I was hoping you'd be cookin' up something good on an actual grill that resembled the front end of a car...homemade. Good work though, that looks really good. Turned out well.
