Good reverse lights

My reverse lights are so dim at night that I can barely see anything when backing up. Anyone have a link or idea to make my backup lights brighter?

Thanks

Re: Good reverse lights

How old are the bulbs? While they still light, bulbs can be down on brightness over time. Cheap to replace the bulbs to see.

That & wash the lenses real good. Even get some plastic polish & polishing up the outside can help greatly.

No idea how old the bulbs are. I have had the car for almost 4 years and never changed them. I'll replace them like you said and clean the lenses thanks.

Re: Good reverse lights

There is a halogen replacement with a 1156 base for back-up light use. I don't about putting a halogen bulb in a plastic enclosure with a plastic reflector, to me they might just get a little too warm.

Re: Good reverse lights

i have the halogen 1156 reverse lights. i replaced both of them with the halogen bulbs. big difference- they're very bright. no problems- i've had them in for over a year and a half. i think it's worth it...i paid $10 per bulb.

Re: Good reverse lights

there is also a 1156 style (not called a 1156 but it has an 1156 base) but its an incadesant 50w (its made for old school fog lights) but they are cheap and work great, i got them in my back ups and my under hood light (BTW i need a new underhood light socket and base )

advance, autozone, peps and all should have them, you have to have a real knowageable sales person or look where the fog lights are (not where replacement bulbs are normaly)
