Year one 17x9 Snowflake wheels, will they fit?

I'm pretty sure no one has these wheels yet on a thirdgen, if you do post up pics. Will I need spacers at all with their 4-7/8" backspacing?

My 17" x 9" ROH Snypers with 0mm offset/5" of backspacing, fit with plenty of room to clear. Probably another 1" to 1.25" before there would have been any danger of hitting......

Cool. Will they stick outwards some or inwards some? I'd rather have them stick inward a bit.

Whichever way you want. Those wheels are built to YOUR specifications. You have to give them full details before they start making them for you. This is from their website.

The 17x9 aren't custom. They only come with the 4-7/8 back spacing. The only options for the wheels are the colors; silver, black, gold.

I'd love to see how those look on a 3rd gen bird. Anyone have a pic, even a photoshop?

Re: Year one 17x9 Snowflake wheels, will they fit?

They look good thats for sure. I talked to 2 different people at year one about them. The first guy said they had over 100 sets and would be shipped out immediately after payment was made. A month later, a woman said they had none in stock and wouldn't even be able to give a shipping date.

So I decided against it for now. I really wish a company would get some ***** and make us some 17" GTA wheels 17x9 up front and 17x10 out back would be perfect.

Re: Year one 17x9 Snowflake wheels, will they fit?

now ur talkin, the 16x8s look good, but an offset 17x9 and 17x10 on my trans am would look amazing. if they only made the 17x9 Speedline 5-spoke to fit a third gen...

Re: Year one 17x9 Snowflake wheels, will they fit?

I've been looking at these more seriously. They definitely won't require spacers. In fact I'm concerned about if they will stick out too far. The front seems like a good fit... compared to my current crosslace rims, they would go in 3/8" futher and stick out 5/8" further. For the back though, the inside of the rim would actually be out further by 3/8" and the outside edge would stick out 1 3/8" further.

The 1 3/8" number is the one that worried me the most. I'm affraid it will look silly or rub on the rear quarters. Does anyone know if it would interfere or not?

Stock fronts are 4.25" bs. That extra bit wouldn't affect anything at all. My 17" x 9" Snypers have 5" bs & I have no problems, front or rear. Fronts are close to the tie rod ends, but never rub any.

Re: Year one 17x9 Snowflake wheels, will they fit?

I thought the stock 16" rims had 4.5" backspacing (0 offset and 9" total width). Are they actually 8.5" total width? I know flange to flange is 8".... it's so confusing how these rim measurements work. It'd be nice if rims were measured by their total width rather than the inside of the flanges.

Does that mean the rear rims with a 16mm offset have a 5" backspace?

I figured the front would be good, I'm mostly concerned about the rear rims sticking out too far.

I've run front wheels (4 front wheels) on the rear & they don't stick out at all. Still in a good 1/2".

Our 16x8" 0mm offset front rims would have 4.25" of backspacing. The positive 16mm rear rims (16mm/25.4 = 0.63") have about 4.9" of backspacing

Stock wheels lip are generally smaller than aftermarket wheel lips, hence the 1.4" variation your seeing.

The rear wheels have way more room than the fronts & a wheel will hit on the front, before it becomes a problem on the rear.

Re: Year one 17x9 Snowflake wheels, will they fit?

very cool. I really appreciate your help with this. So in your opinion, do you think these rims would fit in the back without sticking out of the rear wheel wells or requiring rolling the fender lip?

4 7/8" = 4.875"

Since I put stock fronts, with 4.9" bs (which is close enough to 4.875" to be the "same" for this), I think you'll be more than fine.

I can promise that the rears won't give you any problems. My 17" x 9" rears had 5"bs , with plenty of room to spare. I modified NOTHING to put them on. No inner fender work, no fender lip rolling. Nothing.

Keep in mind, that I am also not lowered (yet). Lowering too much, could cause interference issues with the fender lip.

Re: Year one 17x9 Snowflake wheels, will they fit?

I just realized that your Snypers are pretty much identical in dimensions to what I'm looking at! Could you post a picture of them from the side and from the back?

edit- pretty much simultanious post there. I'd still love to see pics of yours. It sounds like I'm good to go. I have the eibach pro-kit installed on my car and don't plan on lowering it any further.
