ATTN: Sig Pictures!!

I was talking to Dirk and I told him I thought it would be cool if he allowed sig pictures and smilies again and he Agreed!!

They are turned on, but I will tell u now that if every1 keeps using them TOO much or put stupid things in them that shouldn't be there, he will reconsider. So if u have a picture in your sig, don't use it everytime u reply to a topic. Thanks!!

That's cool!

But, whether you reply once or 50 times makes no difference. It's still just 1 picture loading and the load time will be the same.

In other related news, I urge Dirk to check out www.corvetteforum.com. They're running a new UBB-style board that has a TON of great features, yet seems to be much faster than UBB. It may be worth investigating.

No big deal, you can use pics in your sig whether the option is turned on or not if you understand how UBB works. I've been periodically using my sig with pic all along. But I agree that everyone who uses sig pics should keep the file size as small as possible. I am on dialup, and I don't mind them.

You could do it without editing your post, its just that most everyone who tried was only able to figure out how to do it that way. As to doing it when it wasn't allowed, I never heard any complaints from anyone, and Dirk certainly knows how to get ahold of me if he wanted.

Blue502, I'm just saying dude. Do u think Dirk actually took time too look through every post for pictures when he didn't allow them, LOL. He just doesn't want them used like crazy in every reply and post because of load times for others.

LOL, maybe thats why he hasn't had time to get any merchandise made I agree with you totally, but also know that Dirk has replied to some of my posts where I used my sig pic and he didn't say anything. I'm just glad he finally agreed to turn them back on cuz I like 'em, download times and all. And now I'll shut up cuz we're beating a dead horse

It's a little big I think, I think mine is about the right size for a signature picture. Mine took up the whole page before I reduced it with Paintshop Pro.

pictures sould be small in file size and physical size b/c on those ***** sites it take for ever to scroll through the messages, also go to download.com and download a USE a jpg image compressor get the pic to be small and compress it, you will get a image file size of around 8 kb. that I can handel, but sometime the internet get real slow and it take forever just to load up the homepage. Please no big pictures, I will try to do mine to give an example, plus if we standerize the image size then the site will look so much better.

some of you image file sizes are huge for a sig pics, Blue 502, yours is 27, and the one below you is 22 and the one below that is 13. If you want e-mail me and I will optimize your image and send it back.

----EDIT----
I sent 5 of you e-mails with compressed smaller images, check your e-mails and if you want one please just post you image here I will download it, compress/resize it, and e-mail it to you with the same file name so all you have to do it upload on to your server and bingo you got a faster loading less obnoxious sig pic.
