My Wedding Cake...Pretty Cool!!

I got married last year and ran across pics of my wedding cake. Since they are third gen related, I figured I'd post them for your enjoyment. Can't remember what it tasted like, but I can say it was an awesome looking cake. The details on the cake were unbelieveable. The cool part about it was that I went to high school with the guy who did it, and he's also into cars and racing. Enjoy the pics.

Re: My Wedding Cake...Pretty Cool!!

Here's a pic of my car. The cake had the wrong GFX, but I guess it would be hard to do the 91-92 GFX.

The cake is cool... but i've got to know where you guys are finding these wives that would even allow something like that?? Would love to find a woman that enjoyed my car as much as I do. Thirdgen weddings, thirdgen cakes, his and her project cars, drag slick furniture... all the good stuff

Re: My Wedding Cake...Pretty Cool!!

Thanks for the compliments guys. Yeah my wife was pretty cool in letting me do my car as my cake. Usually the groom's cake is suppose to be chocolate and very traditional looking. I told her since I was paying for it and since I'm not really into chocolate cakes, that I would do my own cake. She was still able to get her traditional white wedding cake. The hardest part was having to cut it at the end of the night. Overall, I think it was a pretty cool idea, something different than the norm. My wife is cool with my car, as long as she's able to order her shoes and purses from neiman marcus (man do I hate that store ).

Re: My Wedding Cake...Pretty Cool!!

That's awesome!

My grooms cake had a pic of my car in a park laid out on top of the cake. Looked like you were cutting into a pic of it. This is a whole 'nother step up though. Great work & congrats.

Re: My Wedding Cake...Pretty Cool!!

That's an awesome cake! Two years ago when I got married, we were planning on getting my groom's cake to look like my black z28. The one place we found that said they could do it quoted us a price of something like $2,000 for a cake big enough to feed 24 people!

I told my wife that for 2 g's I could buy another thirdgen and coat it with cake frosting. It's neat to see what it could have looked like though!

Re: My Wedding Cake...Pretty Cool!!

$2,000 thats crazy....I paid about $350 or $400 and if I"m not mistaken, the cake was to feed 30 people, or something like that.

I'm over here! <jumping up and down>

I dream of finding a guy who is as into his third gen as I am into mine. That would be when I would actually consider getting married. Most guys I know just shake their head and think I am strange that I am so into my Cam. Sigh!

And that cake is awesome!

Wow thats awsome I was looking at this and had to caal my girl at work and tell her. We are planning to be married in a year or so and she cant wait to get home to see the pics of this cake. I hve been building my camaro for a little over a year now but back in Febuary she asked to take my car to work. I said sure why not. A couple weeks later she has one of her own sitting in the drive way. I will never let her go. Lol

I'm sure she'll enjoy it and let you get one as well. Good luck with planning the wedding.....it can get a little crazy.

Trust me, it was very hard to cut into it. Once we made the first cut we started to have fun with it. I started to cut the ttops off and tried to open the door....(didn't work though). I say get one for your birthday or anniversary.

Looks awesome! I can't imagine how hard it was to cut it. it looks way too perfect to slice into! The design and detail are seriously impressive. I bet it tasted amazing too. Actually, I'm not a big fan of cakes, bt I really like those from wolferman's bakery. Now I wonder whther they could do something similar if I decided to make such an order.
