Fresh Paint Pics

They just painted it yesterday. I cannot wait to get it home and start putting her together. They have a few spots of trash that they are gonna wetsand and buff out, so I should be able to bring it home tomorrow.

Re: Fresh Paint Pics

Thanks guys. I'm in it right at $2500 with me taking everything apart and putting it back together. They had to do a good bit of work to the doors as they were both wavy as the Pacific Ocean, but they both turned out perfect. I also just ordered all new weatherstripping and carpet for the front last night. so add in another $350. I still have to order all new emblems and parking lights but that will have to wait a little for more funds.

I'm tapped out. I got a little work done yesterday. Got my gas filler door, rear qtr gfx, passenger door gfx, passenger door window sweep and my rear wheels swapped back over. I'll get some outside pics when I get her all put back together.

The feeling you get when a professional paint job, with all the time and money involved comes together is hard to beat. You just stand
back and say
Wowwww!

Damn man. So Shiny! Black and red is a sick combo. I have a question on the gfxs. I have an 87 and was wondering if you could briefly explain how to install some factory ones on it. Here's some pics of it. Not sure if I'm going to have to get a different nose or not.

Really! I want a sport coupe really bad right now just for the lack of GFX. The one thing that must happen to pull it off, is that the car must be lowered... Like 2"

I'm searching CL for a clean one like yours right now LOL!

Hhmm alright I'll take that into consideration. Ya I searched Craigslist all summer and finally found it. Under 3 grand too! If you look hard there are some good deals out there. Sorry for thread jacking...

Thanks for the compliment. I know, not everyone like the 2 tone on the 3rd gen, but I love it.

It's no problem man. I don't mind you asking. Believe it or not, mine started out looking just like yours, a regular ole' sport coupe. The previous owner added the first set of gfx and I replaced those with the newer style. Just let me tell you this. Putting gfx on a non gfx car is a huge pain in the rear. You will have to remove ALL of the interior plastics and door panels to get to the mounting points. You really need to replace the front and rear bumpers to to do it right which is also a lot of work. You will need to drill holes in the doors, rockers, and fenders to mount them. Cars with gfx from the factory have brackets mounted to the rockers that can't be easily removed, so you will probably have to make your own, which is what I did. The end result is nice but it is indeed a HUGE pain in the butt to do this.

Re: Fresh Paint Pics

Wow, I havent posted on here in a while. Thanks for all the compliments. It is a cupholder. It was like that when I bought it. Would like to put in a recessed cupholder though as it sticks up a little high and is kinda in the way of shifting when there's a big drink in it.
I ordered some new wheels and tires for it last week. The tires are here and the wheels will be here Monday. They are Boss 338's 18X8 for the front and 18X9.5 for the back. 245/40/18 front, 265/35/18 back. Should go awesome with the paint scheme IMO.

Haha thanks. It's tinted just not very dark. It's one of my next
things to do. I want to strip all the tint and have it done 20%
all the way around.
