Look like a good deal? first camaro buy

I found a 91 camaro rs that is only 13 miles away, apart from the rest that are hundreds of miles away. Its got a t56 transmission, a 350, posi-trac, 4.10 gears, some nice looking crager wheels, brand new tires 275 40 ZR18 (Yokohama ZR in front Michelin Pilot ZR Sport A/S in rear, and a edlebrock exhaust system with flowmster pipes. 6,000 miles on the current engine and transmission, body has 130000. I checked out the car already and it the interior is perfect. the outside has some bumper scrapes, and paint fading on the hood, but the rest looks great. I drove it and it shifted well, no steering play, brakes worked, so did the lights and windows. replaced glass t-tops, and new polk speakers, with an alpine head, 640 watt amp with dual subs. not a necesity but still a nice addition. im getting it inspected by a chevy tech on monday and the vin check came back with nothing more than two failed emissions 5 years ago. it passed state inspection in may, and it passed emissions also. owner is selling it because he bought a 2010 camaro ss. he wanted 6500-7000, but i got it down to 6000. if it checks out nicely at the tech shop should i go for it? or ask for a lower price.

It looks very nice, but you can buy a nice Z28 for around $ 6,000. If I was spending that much I would buy a Z28 not a RS. On the other hand it looks like it has some nice up grades. It is very clean, so Its really up to you. Its your money. I think if you can get the car for around $ 4, 500 it would be a fair buy.

i would like to get a z28 dont get me wrong. but the closet 5 speed i can find on any car selling site, is 100+ miles away for my price, so im thinking the rs with the 6 speed and the 350, is a pretty good deal. plus its really loud and sounds great.

Besides grill, badges, and misc things, if it truly has a 350 in it, who cares if the badges say Z28? I would definitely get the block number to make sure it's a 350 - as there's NO other way to tell. Then even I'm not sure I'd go 6k - he's probably got 6k in it with those rims, and the T56 - but you never get out what you put in! And he shouldn't either. I'd wave 4k in his face and tell him in this economy, and given that he can't expect to get back his "hobby investment", that's the offer.

My RS looks that good, has a 350 auto, I've got well over 6k in mine (I've got 5k in paint alone, another $1200 in suspension), and I'd never expect to get more than 4k for mine.

4K is about as much as I would pay for that to. I would at least try to get him down on the price alittle more.

If you feel it's worth 6k then pay it. I don't think you could build one that nice for that price. Finding a good clean body/interior, putting together a motor, T56, wheels/tires...add it all up and it would be over $6000. Personaly I'd offer $5500 cash, but wouldn't feel screwed if I had to pay 6. I don't know where you are located, but here in the rust belt that car would probably get it's asking price. It might not sell overnight at that price, but it would sell.

I can buy just as pretty RS's all day long for $3k easily - if I had 3k every time I saw one, I'd have a warehouse full of them. The only reason I give it an extra 1k is for the T56.
