I want a car for the winter, still a cool car, I have around 600 to spend, I don't care if it's a 6-cylinder or not, as long as it runs decent and the body is strait. You guys think it is possible to find one?

A Camaro for the winter?
Get a truck and load it with sand or something.
Don't get a $600 camaro unless you intend to make that bad boy look good, or you'll look trashy.

 

Yes, its possible if you look hard, or know someone with one who needs money real bad. I just purchased an orange '88 IROC (L03 automatic) in pretty good shape for $400 back in June. Only needed a fuel pump for it to run, though I've done a lot more than that to it, and am so far just under $1000 into it. Its now my new daily driver, and just this weekend I drove it 800 miles roundtrip to a Cascade Crew gathering with absolutely no problems. Hope this inspires you to look hard. Good luck.

'86 Camaro Sport Coupe and '88 IROC

 

Yeah, i want a camaro because i love my 89, but it's not going to be done for winter and if it is, i'm not going to want to take it out. I just want to have a decent one and then just make it look respectable after my 89 is done

 

hey man, good luck, but yea its very possible, i bought two camaro not to long ago, and only paid 1000 for both of them, and both are really decent cars, just need a lil tlc. so good luck.

I paid $250.00 for my Camaro many dollars ago. My neighbor is seling his '89 RS for $700.00. Only needs a windsheild and minor fixups. Yes it's possible if you know where to look. Look in other peoples back yards and deep in their garages. Many people have cars that they plan to fixup that never get done. When space is needed or someone dies or gets divorced then the project car can be had for cheap.

Last may I found my '85 T/A in impound, and only paid $300.00 for it. It's needing some cosmetic cleanup, but so far it's been WELL worth it!!

Bright (VERY bright) red. Mods? yep, but never enough!
New toy: '85 305TPI/700R4 Black T-Top T/A (saved from the crusher). So far: fresh '88 700R4 w/'vette servo, shift-kit, & converter; gutted airbox; descreened MAF; coolant-bypass; ported plenum/runners/manifold; 160 deg thermostat.

 

There are alot of cheap 3rd gens out there...I paid $500 for an 87 IROC w/ t-tops/4wheel disk and a rebuilt 305. The interior was rough but the body was in perfect condition...ran good too. The guy was originally asking $1700 but I found some minor potential problems and offered 500 to "take it off his hands".
