Cleaning Valve Covers.
So im hoping this noobish question is not a bit much but..
I have nothing to do over the weekend and i kinda want to clean up my Camaro a bit, so far i have cleaned up the turn signals, Dash, Interior. Now i want to clean up the engine bay a bit and first thing that sticks out like a sore thumb is the valve covers. I want to take them off and clean em up to make the bay a bit more clean.
The things im wondering if its just a simple take them off, and reput them on or if i have to purchase new gaskets for em or if its recommended, Anything a newbie should look out for?
If you are wondering im very new to cars, and my first car of course is a third gen and they have been around my family for a long time so im happy to own one.
Thanks for any help!

They're pretty easy to do. The passenger side is a little tougher, just due to all of the wires and hoses over there. What year car is it? If it's got centerbolt valve covers, they're super-easy to do. The centerbolt gaskets are rubber and actually re-useable if they're in good shape. Although, for like $20 you can replace them for peace of mind, that's what I usually do.

Its a 1992, with a 350 TBI, They were a bit tough though, i only did the driver side due to it getting late. One god damm hose kept getting in the way when reinstalling them almost made me punch a baby until i loosen them up to get back on.
The difference is like night a day, they were really rusted/beaten up. Some degreaser and new paint made them look better. As for the gaskets, they were not beaten up at all. So i bought a extra set in vein.
