taking apart the louvers

Hi, I was wondering, does anybody know the chances of successfully taking these rear window louvers apart? I think they were made by Cragar.
Are they glued? Clicked?
Shipping it assembled will take a monsterous box.

Re: taking apart the louvers

Those look like the ones i picked up. Mine had a nut and a screw on each side of the middle piece. It looks like a 3 piece setup, but each blade down the middle comes off, or should come off. The nut is real simple to get off even when it's rusty usually, obviously depending on the depth of rust, but otherwise, have fun with the screw, mine were all phillips head screws and half of them would not come out. Had to leave my louvers in Long Island at a friends when coming back upstate because bringing home a LB9 in the back seat of my sunfire was that much more important at the time :-)

Look underneath, should be able to see what i described and if it's put together as i said. Soak it in PB Blaster and pray that it goes easily for you.

Re: taking apart the louvers

Not really that tough although time consuming. If you were local I could turn that set into something similar to mine for about 450.00.
Remove the two stiffeners by prying off. gently pry up to disengage the locks, 4 per louver. pull each louver from the two end sections. straighten and prep as needed.

Good luck
