Trunk Trim

Has anyone attempted to paint the trunk trim? The trim is so scratched up and it scratches very easily and just does not look very good at all. Any tips on how to go about painting this to make it look somewhat factory? Either the gray color or even a satin black? The plastic is kind of soft, Should I sand it down? Any help would be amazing

Thanks

Re: Trunk Trim

1. Open a beer

2. Sand down the rough spots (if any) with a 400 grit.

3. have aonther beer

4. Spray with Crylon satin black plastic spray.

5. Use even coats and let dry.

6. Have another beer

Should do the trick.

DO NOT OVER SAND.

Re: Trunk Trim

i did mine by just sanding down the rust spots and then adding a layer of black paint. i might need to put another coat down but it did the trick for the summer.
