Need to know the best way to fix scratches in clear-coat
Hi All,
Just picked up my brand new 2001 T/A WS6. Its dark blue metallic, I Zaino all my cars, so I washed it and dried it with 100% fieldcrest towels. Low and behold there are long straight scatches everywhere on the car. I don't want to use Z5 scratch remover to mask the problem, I want the scratches removed from the paint. What's the best way to do this? Looking for some advise.
Thanks, Dave '91 T/A, '91 GTA, '01 Ram Air

try buffing with some buffing compound. my falimly uses the 3M products, i just used the 3M Perfect It III on my car i just painted, and if it will bring back a car that has been wet sanded with 2000 grit paper it should be able to remove most of those scratches completely but you might be able to see them if you look hard enough.

hi there,
the car sounds great! i have been looking at them my self. hey if its new, run it back to the dealer. they should buff it out for you for free since you just got it. if not pay to have it done. it would turn out the best if they done it and if they cooked the paint they would have to re paint the car.
just my .02

Thanks for the responses. Could you explain how/what buffing does?
Besides the paint, the car is very fun with the 6-speed. Only thing that sucks is I'll have to sell the first car I ever bought, my '91 T/A to make space.
Thanks, Dave
