Gangsters buying up our cars?

Are our cars turning into the new Monte carlo ss/ caprice classic/ el camino? What I mean is do you guys think our cars are being bought up by all the wannabe gangsters to put whacky paint jobs and huge chrome wheels on them only to have the quantity of decent bodies deminish to a point where a ragged third gen is a $5000 car? Seems over 50% of the ones I see these days look like this.

Re: Gangsters buying up our cars?

who cares? lol..to each there own...why hate?
if you cannot appreciate a car for what it is whether it be a "whacky" paint job or huge rims, then you dont deserve to be driving a classic car.

and honestly...what was the point of this thread? just wondering...

Re: Gangsters buying up our cars?

I see it as they are keeping another third gen in circulation and keeping it decent. Until the next guy strips all of that and makes a B/A car!

Re: Gangsters buying up our cars?

I agree with the first two responses. Who cares? We are no body to tell someone else how and what to do with their vehicles they purchased. Don't get me wrong, I think thirdgen donks look horrible and make horrible lowriders, but to each their own. I'll never f-up my thirdgen like that!

If you support the defacing and tasteless car trend, then maybe YOU shouldn't be driving a classic car.

Re: Gangsters buying up our cars?

Really?

Everyone has their style, if you dislike it, don't give it your time and respect and you have showed what you think of it. Anyways, I hardly see them here and have only seen a few and thats on Youtube but who cares, they fix them up, and change cars like shoes, hopefully the next owner will make it right.

My fathers 89 Caprice Classic on the other hand.... I love the car and is in awesome condition, but I wouldn't drive it at night away from my area. If you dislike the trend, just ignore it sooner or later its gonna go by and be something else.

how is he "SUPPORTING THE TREND" he is just saying mind your own business and let it be, with big rims or crazy paint jobs they are somewhat taking care of their car and thats their style, if any thing they are braking the mold because every time you see a thirdgen is all discolored looking like **** with body parts from many different cars and fulfilling the R3dneck stereotype...you have to give props where props are do, hard work is hard work specially on twenty something year old cars.

I can't ignore it when I see these raised up cars coming my way. I'd like to ignore you too, but your reply came my way.

it sounds to me like he does when he objects to the OPs stance on not appreciating and being annoyed with this new trend. if you didn't catch that, then you that's another issue with yourself right by the one where you give into the ******* streotype. not everyone has big money to burn like these guys that make the size of their wheels the #1 priority.
