Removing undercoating

My yellow GTA was undercoated by the original owner. The whole engine bay was undercoated although almost all of it has been removed. I want to work on getting the rest of it removed from the engine bay and I was wondering what is the best stuff to use to remove it that is least harmful to the paint. Thanks.

Re: Removing undercoating

i just removed all the undercoating from my rear wheel wells and i used a Harbor Freight heat gun and a flexible plastic scraper. it smelled pretty bad but it worked well.

Re: Removing undercoating

Depends on the undercoating used. My car was undercoated with Rusty Jones. It's a bees wax that stays pliable. In FL heat, it was too soft and allowed sand and dirt to stick very easily making it impossible for a clean undercarriage. Plus it looked dirty just being there. I used Gunk Gel and a pressure washer.
